“The elf blessed by The Sorcerer Dragon, carrying the weight of a curse and an old story.”

I’m reposting it so it gets to more people! I’ve redesigned them and finally wrote their story. I’ll do the same with Sindriel soon. I have more OCs to introduce, but I wanted to update the ones I already have first.

Let’s talk a little bit about their creation and history, shall we?

What’s new?

I didn’t really put much thought into their old design. I created Latondel back in the day when I was playing a horror RPG, and I decided to make a dark elf. I didn’t have much experience on developing characters, I just made up a vengeful prince (yes they used to be a boy) based on a fanart of Sylvanas from World of Warcraft. This one.

This design still inspired me to create their new looks, but I had much less influence from it.

When I posted the old concept, I was thinking of them as a diplomat that would also be a warrior when needed, but now I gave this role to another OC I will still present to you in the future. I changed their sword to a wooden scepter, that would provide them draconic magic.

The clothes are inspired by a mix of fantasy elvish culture and ancient Greece culture. I also got a lot of influence from the Afrofuturism in Black Panther, but those will be more present in other concept arts I will introduce in the future.

Who are they?

Latondel is part of a group of four shamanic embodied entities, The Guardian Dragons. They are the incarnated spirit of The Sorcerer Dragon, the dragon responsible for keeping order within their people (the elves) and to organize and establish relationships with other cities, kingdoms, races, and realms. They are also known as The Diplomat Dragon and The Politic Dragon.

The relations between Dareenyëhir, the nation of the elves, and Vesuvia started when Latondel and Lucio met when they were still teenagers. Maybe Lucio should’ve listened better to Latondel’s diplomatic advice... But that’s a story for another hour!

As the Sorcerer Dragon, they were reborn with the Curse of Loneliness, a spell that gives the incarnation features and magical peculiarities that are supposed to scare and keep people away from them. 

Latondel’s case relies on their eyes: The bright chartreuse eyes, along with the marks on their cheeks, have a mind-controlling spell that traps humans, elves, and weakened fae in a trance once they look directly into them.

So, if you had been following me for the past few posts, you know I just started to stan Lucio. And I wanted to work on an OC for him so badly, even before I started actually liking him (I want at least one OC for each of the main 6). 

And, as any good writer, I have a shitload of stories I've written but never posted or developed further. So I tried to remember all the interesting OCs I had, the ones I used to play in RPs back in the day, the background characters in old fanfictions... And then, Latondel came to me.

I created them back in the day when I was playing a very interesting RP about a school that was filled with monsters and dark creatures during night, and I had the idea of creating a fully developed dark elf character. Latondel used to be a boy, but they're now non-binary. I already had two male OCs, one female, already working on a second female, it was time to make an NB pal!
