Important
Hey everyone,
This is probably something that you all probably saw coming, but I felt the need to finally address it.
I’m discontinuing Latronis.
This is something I decided on quite a while ago, but I just didn’t bring it to your attention. Now, don’t get me wrong- Latronis had a good run. It was fun while it lasted, and I’m glad I was able to share it with you. I’m just making this post to explain why I’m making this decision. This comic was supposed to be something for me to do for fun. It was supposed to be something that I enjoyed. However now, I lost that sense of enjoyment. I lost it a while ago. But I did have such a great time creating the pages in the past! It was something I was passionate about! But now, it feels like a chore, well, it felt like a chore. I haven’t worked on a page in at least 2 months. Even then, the last page I worked on (page 65) was forced.
That’s one of the first reasons why, however there are a couple more. My second point is that I don’t feel as passionate as I once did about the story. Don’t get me wrong- Julie did a great job on the writing. She worked really hard on it and I’m thankful for that. However, I feel like it is not something that I want to put a lot of time and effort into. I just became less motivated and interested in the story. A major part of the story was about two character’s relationship, and I feel like it is something that I am no longer interested in. It’s not just that part though, the idea of creating a comic is no longer pleasing to me. To sum it up - I am no longer interested in the story and no longer want to make a comic. **This is not me bashing the writing! Julie is a great writer and did a great job portraying our ideas.**
This brings me to the final point, and probably the most important. Working on a big project with someone else can be stressful. What starts out feeling as something fun you’re doing with a friend can turn into a chore that you are working on with a “colleague”. What I am trying to say here is- this comic was damaging to Julie and I’s relationship. We were trying to balance it on top of school, which frankly was a poor decision on our part. Working on this- forcing out content on something that I was not passionate about became so stressful for me. And I’m sure it was stressful for Julie too. Time went on and things started to escalate. We were no longer talking, and what was a friendship had turned into something much different. The comic was not the only thing that contributed to that, but some things just need to stay private. She did the right thing by leaving the comic, and I was wondering how long it was going to take me to quit as well. I eventually stopped working on the pages, and had even stopped drawing for a little while. I don’t want to get into what happened, as it is very personal. However, today we are putting back the pieces and trying to rebuild our relationship. My point is, this comic caused more bad than it did good.
The end of Latronis was honestly for the best and I’m sorry if it is upsetting to any of you. I still love the characters and draw them all the time on my Instagram (@charsarts_). *This is incase any of you want to keep up with them* Before posting this, I did get Julie’s permission and she read over everything I wrote. I want to thank you all for a great run.. It was fun while it lasted! It was a great experience and is something that I’ve learnt from. Thank you for understanding, and I hope you enjoyed your stay.

Excuse the horrible art in the last 2 pages, the sketches are about 2 months old.
