isn't the whole point of the lauda and guel battle that it WAS a pretty stupid thing?

lauda was angry, confused and tired and did what every teen would do in his situation: using a pretty weak logic and half-hearted line of reasoning to convince himself into doing something reckless and impulsive that feels fresh and liberating as a way to express a LOT of piled-up emotions

guel is trying SO hard to be empatic and understanding that he's overdoing, going all "alas, i must bear the burden of the suffering person in front of me as a way to punish myself for my past crimes", like yea sure you must guelsus jeturkhrist
