I HAVE FINISHED THE FULL MOON FIC
it still needs beta work and editing so it's not going up today, and possibly not tomorrow either, but it will definitely be up sometime this week because it's FINALLY FUCKING DRAFTED AND HAS A TITLE AND EVERYTHING

HE LANDED HIS TRIPLE AXEL I’M SO PROUD OF HIM!!!!!
Update: I've written somewhere between 30-50% of the next chapter of Shovel Talk tonight (I'm not really sure how long this chapter is going to be but my target is between 4-6k so by that metric I'm probably at least 35% of the way there)
I'm going to need to make some big headway on BAWL this weekend before I get back to it, but if I'm able to write like this on Friday and Saturday as well, I'll be able to spend a little time on this to try and get the next shovel talk 4 up within a few weeks!
So this decision from the FFKK is... different.
To make it clear, I am very happy for Evgenia. And she's a strong competitor with pretty high scoring potential, so I don't think sending her is a mistake or a bad idea. IMO she's skating better than she ever has in terms of the quality of her jumps and SS, even if she's not as consistent as she was during her gold streak, so I don't think sending her is a mistake.
But the disrespect to Liza is just... incredible. In my opinion sending either Stanislava or Evgenia while leaving Liza off the Worlds team is just foolish on the part of the fed.
And I knew going in that no matter what decision was made, it was going to be a heartbreaker. Four deserving young ladies, only three spots, there's just no good option. But even if I don't think sending Zhenya is a mistake, I also think not sending Liza definitely is.
as a sidenote totally unrelated to anything, it warms the cockles of my cold dead heart that one of Alina’s hobbies listed on her ISU bio is “taking care of pets”
like honestly this girl is an angel and must be protected
oh and speaking of bogus scores, I’ve been meaning to go on a rant about the PCS corridor for like a year but honestly
I definitely agree that giving Donovan scores in the 6.-- range for SS/TR/CO components is appropriate and correct, but the fact that he’s getting anything less than 8.00 from any judge for PE/IN is highway robbery
So Donovan is at least in 16th after the short program, possibly higher depending on how Andrew Dodds and Kai Xiang Chew do... they’d both have to top their SBs by more than 10 points to outscore him, which is certainly possible but imo unlikely, meaning there’s a good chance Donovan could end up higher even than 16th, which is a tremendous improvement over where he was at after the SP at 4CC last year.
That being said... I can’t wait until the day that Japan has a dance or pairs team that’s good enough to qualify for the GPF. That’s when we’ll know that Japan has truly Arrived™ in this godforsaken sport
