Lapidot Week Day 5:
I didnt have enough time to think of a better idea. Everyone did a redraw of their art while I did a thank you. That’s good enough, right?
@jenhedgehog
I really hope @laurenzuke is okay!!! She is my favourite story board artist! And it really hurts to see what this fandom has done to her! So please stop hurting her! She is a human being just like us! The only difference is that her drawings of lapis are AMAZING (and everything else really ) so yeah, please send her support
i cant believe this amedot/lapidot ship war. like, both are good! both are great lgbt representation and im so sad lauren zuke got run off twitter because of it. we are so blessed to have a show with so many strong female(-coded) relationships and we should just appreciate it.
honestly, let people ship whatever (moral, legal) ships they want
Laurenzuke closed her twitter because some crazy fans were being disrespectful to her over a fucking ship. (It was lapidot and amedot shippers.)
GOOD JOB.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Man, what a time to be alive.
I can’t think of any other cartoon with multiple lesbian characters, and to see them on a kid’s show -- a fantasy kid’s show (the best kind, mind you) -- just blows my mind away. I am blessed to live in such an era where I can see people like me on TV, where I can see girl characters with fleshed-out personalities and quality character development, having romantic moments with other well-written girl characters. Even if they are space rocks.
When I learned that one of the storyboard artists for the Crewniverse was queer like me, I was so excited and happy! A person like me has the direct privilege of helping make one of my favorite shows in the world.
Now, to hear that angry shippers have run her off of twitter, my heart has shattered. I feel like all my hope is lost.
I know that, to a lot of you, these characters are just tools to ship together. But they mean so much more to me than that.
Lapidot, Amedot -- who cares what they are? Will it matter in 20 years? Can we just be thankful for the representation that we’re finally getting on TV?
Must we always bite the hand that feeds us? Must we look our gift horse in the mouth?
Must we ignore all the show’s messages about peace and love? To harass real people, with real lives, over fictional ships?
Grow up already.
My heart is with you @laurenzuke.
lauren zuke makes the best episode and I would love to tell her that know your fusion was fantastic and yet I can't because you dickheads ran her off of Twitter thanks a lot
How is it anyone finds it appropriate to grab their pitchforks and attack the very people who create the show they're so passionate about?? I'm so tired of seeing all this hate towards the crewniverse. It's petty, disgusting, and you guys don't seem to have any understanding what effect it has on these creators. Like here's the thing dudes... You think you love a character more than their creators? False. You think we're being given them to dupe us into investing in characters and interactions that don't have a purpose? False. It's so unbelievably entitled. You don't have to love every aspect of a show... Really. But you do need to respect those it comes from. They are just as human, flawed, and emotional as you and I. They don't deserve this ridicule.
