Text: I’ll be there on Sunday. Break a leg, Eli.
She didn’t know what time it was, but it was dark outside. The dim lights of Havenoaks glowed through her apartment window. Not many houses or other apartments had lights on, and she assumed that it was sometime during the middle of the night. If she had to guess, she would say it was between one and three am. Her head was resting on Eli’s chest. She didn’t have to look up to remember who it was. Just the scent of him confirmed her thoughts, and a small sigh came from her as she slowly shifted. They were on her bed, still fully clothed, on top of the covers, with a throw blanket over the pair of them. She must have fallen asleep while speaking to him, he’d come over to talk to him, and vice versa. They were one another’s solace in a way, always feeling comfortable enough to let their inner demons loose without fear of judgement.
It had been weeks since she saw him look this relaxed, and a small smile formed on her lips as she took it in. Her gaze travelled over his lips, taking note of how they were parted somewhat, how his eyelashes lay against his cheeks, and the way his hair had fallen against his forehead. He looked good, even while in a deep REM sleep.
Laura shook her head, somewhat envious of him. He had been so good to her, so good for her. No one had made her feel as good about herself, or forced her to come to terms with her inner feelings like he could, and she knew that one day they would drift apart, as all friends seemed to do, for various reasons, and it made her heart clench somewhat inside her chest.
Gingerly, she reached up and moved some of his hair from his forehead, and as if in reaction, felt his arm pull her closer. Pursing her lips, she lay her head back down on his chest and wrapped her arm around him. “Can I keep you?” She whispered, only to press a kiss to his chest and close her eyes.
She’d enjoy sleeping with him one last time, before putting a stop to it. It would only do more harm in the end.
She had been having trouble lately. Hearing of Sarah’s pregnancy had brought up so many emotions for her, that she’d had to run away from them. When Eli first told her of the predicament that he was in, her heart sunk. He was so in love with the other woman, and their relationship was so strained, that she knew that a child would complicate things. She was happy though, for Sarah. A child was a blessing, and Sarah out of all the people she knew, deserved to have a blessing; deserved to have the joy of motherhood bestowed upon her. The fact that she didn’t know who the father was didn’t bother Laura, because she knew that between Eli, and the other guy - she knew that both Sarah and the child would be looked after.
That knowledge was something that brought up a memory of hers she had longed to forget. One that haunted her whenever she saw a baby on TV, or whenever she saw a mother walking with a stroller down the street. She had almost been a mother. She’d conceived, had a life growing within her, and that life had been taken away, and since she found out about the baby. Her best friends baby. Emotions had been running high for her.
She’d made up an excuse for Eli, telling him that she just needed a break after what had happened with her mother, and while that was partially true, it was not the whole truth.
Laura had been crying for the past hour, and when Eli walked into her apartment (because she’d lost track of time and had forgotten he was coming to visit), he walked in to see her cradling herself on the couch. Being the amazing man he was, he was concerned and wanted to know nothing more than what had happened. She had began to blubber on about how her leaving hadn’t exactly been what he said, and then things got a little incoherent after that, her tears getting the better of her.
When she could finally come to calm down slightly, she lay her head on her knees and took a deep sigh. “I can’t... I can’t think about a baby, or talk about a baby right now Eli. There’s something you don’t know about me, and it might make it easier for you to understand as to why I want to be there for you and Sarah, and why I kind of just up and left.” After a brief pause, she went on to tell him what happened, how she’d miscarried as a teen.
Once the story of her past had been fleshed out before him, she finally made eye contact with him, a solemn frown on her lips. “I still want to know what’s going on... I just... Need to collect myself and my thoughts, but I do want to be kept up to date - if you’ll allow me to be.”
“Why’re you sitting here all by yourself?” (Laurijah)
Laura looked up from the park bench, only to find Eli standing there. If it weren’t for the sunglasses that she had on, she’d be blinded by the sun that was shining brightly behind him. “Oh you know, I just like watching leaves roll across the grass.” She said with a chuckle, before patting the space beside her. “I’m watching my dog, actually. I decided to finally get one.” She pointed to the golden retriever who was rolling around in the grass with a chew toy. “I’m trying to teach him to play fetch, but the asshole just likes to keep it.” She turned to her friend and patted his knee. “How’ve you been?”
He’s the asshole that’s made me feel things. The one who I go to now (other than Blaine) to talk to. Whenever something happens, whether it be good, bad -anything really- I go to him. He’s my person. As much as I hate to admit it, I care about him. I want him to be happy, and to be proud of me. I’d do anything for that stupid guy.
"N-no... anything b-but that... p-please..." || "You sicken me." || "Why should I believe you?" (any of the ships we've ever had because why not)
Any ship? This will be fun. :)
Elijah’s camera zoomed in on Laura while she acted out a scene to a short movie he wrote while on his road trip with Niamh. He wasn’t completely sure about it but Laura offered to help him out. Plus it was one way for her to stay clothed in front of a camera, which he preferred as he wasn’t a big fan of her actual job.
"N-no... anything b-but that... p-please..." she cried out, completely into the character’s mindset. Another friend of his played the part of the murderer and was about to tear into her with a fake knife but Elijah called for the scene to pause. He had second thoughts about this particular moment. “Thanks guys. I think I want to go in a different direction with this part. It might be better if-” and he started to give them feedback, to see what their thoughts were because he valued their opinion given they were playing the characters.
After they called it a day Elijah set his camera back into the bag and waited for Laura to finish collecting her things. “Hey.” he said after he zipped his bag. “Just wanted to say, again, how thankful I am you offered to help with this. It’s been awhile for me and it feels good to have a camera in my hand again.” It was what he needed, to feel like his old self and not the sad mess he’d been for the past many weeks. “Want to grab a drink and catch a game? I’ll treat.”
"You sicken me." That would cause anyone to want to ask why? Or to at least better the situation but with Scott he simply laughed. “You’re the one who came here, babe. It’s not my fault you can’t get enough of my cock.” He sat back on the porch swing and rocked back and forth with the help of his heel. The guy’s ego was on full display and he quirked an eyebrow at Tessa. “Are you going to continue with that fake pout or will you do what you came here to do. Because if you’re gonna be this way I’m going inside to eat my pizza. It’s getting cold.”
There was a thud on the door and Chloe nearly jumped out of the chair she was lounging in. Her eyes went directly to it and she wondered who the hell it was but soon a sensation overcame her body; ones she couldn’t control, and she realized it was Sam. There was such a strong emotion which went through her, one of anger and she didn’t know why or how come he was emitting that to her.
Chloe moved quickly and opened the door and a rare site greeted her. Sam was pissed and he pushed into her parents house. "Why should I believe you?" He asked, not even saying hello to her. The girl stood there, confused.
“What the hell are you talking about?” she asked as her small hands bunched at her hips. The rage he filled her with carried into her behavior and as much as she tried to control it it was hard when Sam was amped up like this. His power was far stronger than she realized and she found herself move towards him and poke his chest. “If you’re going to accuse me of something then spit it out. I don’t have to take this treatment from you.”
Sam stepped back from her and glowered. “Don’t pretend I didn’t see you kissing someone else. You can use the clone excuse but it was you. Present you.” There was so much hurt in his eyes and Chloe realized what happened.
The thing was it wasn’t her. It really was another one of her clones which came and went whenever they pleased because she still hadn’t gained full control of her ability.
“Wait. Where? Where did you see her?” she said, still feeling that nauseating rage in her stomach. “You’ve got to believe me, Sam. That wasn’t me. I’ve been here all day.”
