We need to be honest with each other. That was what she had told Lav and Barnaby when they’d first come on board with leading the gang side of things. Usually she would be able to claim that things were nothing when it was about her personal life but now there was a business aspect to it. Gabriel was here and working for the family and both of the men by her side would need to know the truth. Lav first though... her cousin was someone she could get it all out to. And she had no idea how he was going to take it or what might end up happening to her friend after it was out in the open.

Knocking on the open door frame she waited until she caught her cousin’s eye, too late now to back out and run away. “Hey.” Just one word and she had to force it out of her mouth. “I need to talk to you, and it’s really important so are you somewhat sober?” That was also important, would he be able to hear this and remember it? Kit knew that she wouldn’t be able to tell him about it twice.

My office. Now. The three words texted to both men once she was sure she had it all figured out. This would need to be dealt with quickly and quietly before anyone else found out. A united front before stepping out in front of everyone and telling them all the truth. What should have been a quiet Wednesday morning and she had to deal with this bullshit. She’d rushed home almost immediately after finishing her show, late enough that anyone who’d had a late night would be awake but early enough the day hadn’t started yet.

She waited to speak until both of the men were in the room and even then it was only to say “lock the door.” How was she going to do this? Be clear and firm and... she just had to do her best. Kat would need people she trusted wholeheartedly by her side for this and when she really thought about it? Those two were in a handful of people that she could say that about. Gesturing for them to take a seat she leaned forward. “What I am about to say doesn’t leave this room until tonight’s meeting.”

She took a breath. “Lev is gone. Defected. His room cleared here, there’s no sign of him even existing in Vasile Media. All of it. He’s gone and now considered a traitor.” Only a slight pause. “Because of this Nadia has chosen to step down from a leadership position which means I need to fill those. So if you two are up for a challenge.”

It had been a long morning already and after barely sleeping the night before Kit was ready to go upstairs and curl up for a nap for a few hours. Constantly going for the last few weeks was starting to catch up on her and maybe it was time to slow down and let her body stop. For now at least. Might have been easier for her if she hadn’t stopped at the coffee shop for the biggest sugary drink she could find, but even doing nothing would be counted as stopping. Stepping into the manor she heard the cries first and her curiosity piqued Kit went looking for the source, stopping when she saw her cousin. “What. Is. That?” Of course she knew what she was looking at but clearly she hadn’t taken too much notice of what Lav had been up to since coming home, she’d been incredibly busy. “And what are you doing to it?”
