"Here," Genevieve started with a small smile as she placed a cup of tea in front of her guest, "I've been trying out new teas, and this one really helps with stress relief. It has ginseng in it." The woman added, as if there was no mischief afoot. There was a bit of an innocence to her tone. But unknowing to the one that would drink from that particular cup, there was an extraordinary mixture that was held inside.

Picking up her own cup, she took a sip from it and nodded her head. "Oh, and please tell me what you think. ...I can take criticism."

Vasco drew his hand back a little. Not because he felt embarrassed for not knowing but because he didn't want to burn himself and allow a cookie to fall. This woman probably spent hours in baking these cookies, especially shaping them in a beautiful gingerbread man, decorated with chocolate and vanilla frosting. The fresh smell of baked goods filled his nostrils, which made his stomach do flips in excitement to taste these snacks. His gaze snapping upwards to the other.

For years, Lilly tried not to stay in one place for too long or to frequent the same businesses, preferring to keep a forgettable and low profile was key in her way of life. In her line of work being recognized could turn to be the catalyst of downfall. She wasn’t looking to get caught, and she only lingered somewhere when she was gathering information about a certain person or place.

Today wasn’t one of those cases however. She hadn’t been in this city for years, this coffee shop was new to her, and this meeting all perchance not a carefully planned scheme. Rather a quick money making idea to steal from the customers of the charming shop. Coming upon the shop Lilly thought it was the perfect place to make a bit of income. Nimble and skilled hands had already earned her a few twenties in stolen money and a few rouge ‘lost’ wallets. She needed to fund her stay in town one way or another after all. With a coffee and baked good in hand she seemed like any other customer.

When the bell above the door dinged, Lilly looked up from her coffee and newspaper to see who had entered and if they seemed worth her time, although so far she had only turned away one person and he had seemed particular slimy, even the woman with underworld in her blood had her lines to draw. Seeing it was a lone woman, however, Lilly gave a small smile. Her perfect target. She had learned time and time again that women were very respective of another woman complimenting her, and no one regardless of gender would think a small coffee shop was the place they’d be pick pocketed. Very quick Lilly wiped the stray powdered sugar off her hand that had come from another bakery good she had devoured earlier. She slipped off her seat and approached Genevieve with a friendly smile.

“Oh! Miss! I absolutely love your outfit!” she started. She had gotten good at pleasantries and starters, friendly smiles and the whole mile but nothing could grantee how well her attempts would go especially the future in she got. “Oh wait where are my manners my name is Lilly, and you lovely are...?”

“Here, try these.” Her hands presented a small box, which contained a layering of parchment paper with different pastel colored macarons arranged by color. She only ever offered a sampling of her baking when Isabelle decided it was perfect, or as close to it as she could get. “The cream color is vanilla chai, pink is strawberry cheesecake, purple is taro, and green pistachio. Not quite like the bakery in Marseille, but much better than the last time I made them.”
