Made a pair of “Spring in my Step” socks by @ottercraftknits using the Mystery Machine sock yarn by @threadhead_knits.co I picked up at @altered_stitch during the @layarncrawl . They are super cozy and only used about half a skein, so I’m thinking I’m going to make some matching mitts to go with them. I am going to need some help photographing my #whatthefadeshawl (pattern by @dreareneeknits) after I finally block it. It’s just hard to manage with two cats in the house 😹 and also I can’t back away enough to show the whole shawl in the frame, lol. I did a little video (which I didn’t manage to turn the right way, oh well!) I got a lot of compliments on it during #layarncrawl #layarncrawl2018, finished it at the stroke of midnight on Thursday! (Which is why I haven’t blocked it yet, I just wanted to wear it immediately.) This is both my first brioche project AND my first shawl project, as well as the only thing I have completed so far this year. And for anyone wondering, here are the yarns which I bought last year at @altered_stitch (start at the bottom garter stitch) A - @macheteshoppe Betty Paige 💜 in Single Twist (SW merino) B - @macheteshoppe Rhubarb ❤️ in Simple Sock (SW merino/nylon), C - @spectrumfibre 🌈Party in a Nebula SW merino sock yarn, D - @macheteshoppe Grassroots 💚 also in Simple Sock, E - @thegreatskein Photosynthesis 🌱 in Pure Merino Sock, and F - @dyedinthewoolyarnco Don’t Pee in the Pool 🏊🏽‍♂️😹 in Twisted Sock. Phew! I’ll update Ravelry today because TBH I can never remember all the yarns, it just breaks my 🧠 to try to tell anyone what’s what. I didn’t have a lot of free time this week, but I did a little yarn-crawling and here’s what I got! 1 - from @altered_stitch, super speckly Leslie by @wraybot in Boss Sock, 2 - from @yarnovertruck shimmery Marie Antoinette Unicorn Poop by @yarnloveyarn, 3 - @forbiddenfiberco Gluttony Sock in (L to R) Ever After 😍, Bonnie Prince Charlie, and Healer from @socalknits, 4 - @cey_yarns Hanako and @malabrigoyarn Rios in Sunset from #needleinthehaystack, which btw has super cute embroidery patterns I will certainly be back for (I just got the gnome one shown in 6 by @kyokomaruoka) 6 - the @pompommag I’ve been searching for! Found at @woll.haus, along with 😱 limited edition @brooklyntweed Ranch, 8 - @flyingkettledyeworks/ @theflyingkettle Fundamental in Caspertine (white speckled) and @madelinetosh sock yarn (Citrus). 9 - I also got Wollhaus’s last 2 #layarncrawl totes for me and @fishgirl182 😘 Thanks Kathy and Ulli and all their staff for fondling and praising my #whatthefadeshawl (see next post). Better start saving for next year... Yarn is 💸💸💸! And for anyone who’s free tomorrow, hey, the Crawl is still on. Have fun and drive safely!
