I have been doing this for years, in my drawings, as a technique, at times. I find parsons code is efficient for making it simple. Using a bar with intention to consider notation of soft or sharp and etc about key of whatever, can also be done. I haven’t really had the time to do this, with that level of intended articulation, but think it’s a cool idea for conceptual s suggestion for work that has a great degree of time given to single pieces with intricate details. Something I am working on.
Like all my other stuff, where I enjoying hiding and revealing things.
I think minimalism is a response to wanting a distance from this, due to when people are learning, developing and concealing patterns. A desire not to look or listen for nothing there other than decorative, or for it not to distract. What is simple, does this, after what is complex, sonically and visually… to appease and give rest. While the other gives much to explore, see and be entertained by.
