Among the first of the layered image offshoots of my Bewilderness series was this work from early 2015. Just ran across it and still love this image intensely. That early experimentation has opened so many creative doors since, and resulted in many truly surreal images. The original idea came from experimental film work I was doing at the time, and in the years since these still and moving image experiments have resonated back and forth. In those early days my models and I went out with fairly specific shooting plans. Now the sessions are more a combination of planned segments and playful improvisation, knowing that a vastly different reality will reveal itself over time.
