[I just keep on adding new tags I know I shall forget to use the next time it comes to it. Sigh.]
So I redid my blog theme to one from Everlark, whom I found on Zeldalise's recommendations, and man, damn, it looks good. I have never had this dark a theme on my blog before. Re-added the online users counter and added a hits counter though I think it looks rather pathetic. Did not put the followers counter there because lol, compared to some people here I'd rather not show my measly follower count haha. xD
The cyclone mostly damaged everything in its path in Orissa and now its moved onto Bihar. Gangetic West Bengal is prone and there have been moderate showers. I hope to fucking God it doesn't come here. Thankfully the damage has been mostly property damage and likewise and the death toll is still negligible, which is nothing short of a miracle. The hype and proper reporting of the cyclone activity by the news outlets has been really really helpful.
My dad was telling me of a cyclone in 1999 which hit Orissa from the Bay of Bengal and it damaged everything in its path and went to the Western Coast and then doubled back and re-damaged everything and then made its exit. 10000 people died. I don't even remember the incident. I cannot even begin to imagine the horror.
What has been particularly laudatory on part of the Orissa government is that they have been building cyclone shelters for the past few years and they asked for central assistance and army troops when they saw what was going to happen and evacuated more than a million people. The rehabilitation is such a major issue now but I am hoping slowly, they will be finding a solution to that as well.
I hope the thunderstorms don't get any worse here. It has been raining here nonstop since the morning.
