Sitting on one of the few tables outside the school, Scarlett waited for Olivia to be released from school. To the left of her, was a group of mothers who were widely known to be active on the PTA, they were the kind of mothers who always had their nose up in the air, making a big deal of nothing and acting as if their shit didn't stink. People Scarlett would never associate herself with, people who made it clear they didn't much like her either - which obviously, Scarlett couldn't care about. The bell rang and out came the masses of children, running to either the bus line or whoever was picking them up.
Through the crowd, Scarlett spotted Olivia bounding down the steps and straight over to her. "Hey baby." Scarlett moved off the table, eyes glancing down to the piece of paper in her daughters hand, "What's this?" And before she had time to react, Olivia's shoving it in her hands, "It's a dad/daughter dance! Do you think daddy will want to come? We can dress up and drink kool-aid and dance." Scarlett couldn't help but laugh at her daughter's excitement, "I think he'll be thrilled to take you. You guys will have the best time." Reaching out for Olivia's hand, they started to walk off the campus, and right pass the nosy PTA mothers - ignoring their looks of disgust as they walked by. "Do you think he'll wear pink? Or maybe purple? He has to match my dress, right? We can go shopping for a new dress, can we mom? And you can do my hair and my nails, make me look like a princess." Scarlett squeezes Olivia's hand softly, "Ah, baby you already look like a princess. But yes, we can get you a new dress, and do your hair and nails. And I'm sure he'll match you no matter what color you pick."
And for a brief moment, Scarlett looked up to make sure they weren't going to run into anyone and that's when she saw him. Ollie. She stopped in her tracks, unsure if she was seeing who she was seeing. Olivia caught wind of the shock that Scarlett was in, tugging at her hand, "Mom?" Olivia's eyes followed Scarlett's, landing on Ollie. "Mommy, is that Oliver? Daddy's brother? The one in pictures?" Scar shook out of her shock, "Yeah, baby, that's him." She answers, looking to Olivia, unsure of how to answer how he was here, because hell -- she didn't even know. And before Scarlett could stop her, Olivia dropped her hand and ran straight over to Oliver. Scarlett wasn't going to stop her, she trusted Oliver. So, she just followed behind, watching as her daughter looked up to her uncle, then without warning she poked him, looking back to Scarlett "Mom he's real!" She then turned back to Oliver, "I'm Olivia, my daddy is your brother. Your picture is on our fridge."
