Rectal Thermometer Warning

You’re a parent, your baby is bound to get sick, and the only truly accepted way of your baby’s temperature is measured by a rectal thermometer. Here’s the warning: make sure you’re out of the direct line of fire and that the area is prepped for flying poop. Today, I witnessed it’s power, not only to take the most accurate baby temperature but also to release an amazing amount of flying feces. The poor nurse who was taking my baby’s temperature was sprayed all over.. and because of the release, my baby was relaxed and happy wearing the biggest smile and laugh on his face. How could you get mad at that!

Leaking.

It is true that if you breastfeed or pump, the return of your period slows. However, that doesn't mean you won't get your period. On top of leaking from below, you also have to worry about leaking from above. Prepare for milk to be everywhere. Milk will leak from your breasts during a nice warm shower, yes, it could just spew out, then continue to leak afterwards. It will leak when your boobs are full and you're walking down the stairs, or if you're just watching tv. If your sleeping it will leak through your clothes and if you kind of crush or lean on a full boob, milk will be all over your bed. Prepare to leak milk everywhere.

Exclusively Pumping VS Breastfeeding

Get him on the boob! My baby was in the NICU and after he came home, he was already used to the bottle nipple and refused to work for his milk by sucking it out of my boob. The flow from the nipple was way easier. Now, I am exclusively pumping. It hurts more than breastfeeding especially if you're doing it 8 times a day at half an hour a piece. Then unlike the booby feeding mama, you're permanently glued to an outlet for the pump. While the booby feeding mama can go to the park or mall and just whip out the milk sucking baby when her boobs get full, you're stuck by a power source. And while breastfeeding in public is becoming more accepted, pumping in public isn't anywhere close. You'll feel like a cow.
