@ehrendame has stopped by for Lily’s birthday

Lily wasn’t sure whom she was expecting when she hushed her dogs and answered the knock at her door, but Resi, the Bavarian, was certainly not on that list. She made no effort to hide the instinctive annoyance that she felt upon even thinking of the other woman. “Resi, what a surprise,” she said cooly. “If you’re here about some work thing, you’ll have to set up an appointment with my assistant. It’s after hours now, and I’m busy expecting other people for something important.”

@damnprussia has stopped by for Lily’s birthday

“Gilbert, do come in.” She stood back from the door to let him inside. Her dogs sniffed him but otherwise paid him no mind. “It’s nice of you to stop by. Do you want anything? Beer? Food? It’s rare for too many people to show up, really, so I wouldn’t expect it to get too exciting.”

@msprussia has stopped by for Lily’s birthday

It was a pleasant surprise to see Julia at her door today, especially since a couple of the other guests this day had not been on Lily’s preferred company list. So she was smiling and letting Julia in quickly as soon as she opened the door and saw her. “Thanks for coming by. It’s nice of you to come for my birthday. Do you want some beer or anything?”

"Happy birthday, little one. Seventy-something, isn't it? My, my. I remember when I was that young."

The feat that took place inside Lily’s mind as she fully resisted the urge to slap him was one of the biggest yet. She simply narrowed her eyes for now, and took an icy tone with him. “Seventy-three,” she said, “and don’t patronize me. I have plenty of sway with the local police, so if my fist should find a path to your face, well there won’t be much you can do, besides icing it and pretending you intended for it to happen all along.”

"I heard rumours that today was your birthday." The Russian begins, holding out a large and intricate tin to her fellow Representative. "I made you a cake.. Consider this a peace offering. I know we haven't had the best history after all.."

“Rumors? I wouldn’t imagine my birthday being the subject of ‘rumors.’” She looked at the tin and took it, careful to keep it from dropping. She had, of course, already baked her own cake, but she figured another one wouldn’t hurt. And she didn’t wish to seem ungrateful for a visit on her day, even from Nonna. “Thank you. You can come in, if you like. I have food and beer set out. Don’t mind the dogs.”
