Day 27 #lbdproject2018 4 Days left. Only 4. But that just means March 2018 and lbdproject2018 are over. The fight for Freedom will continue on long after. Learning more about modern day slavery and things you can do, can continue on if you so choose. For me, I don't want this to fall by the wayside until next March. And I don't want to fall/shrink back to easier things/ the way I've always done things.... I am hoping that posting regularly will help to keep me committed. Day 24 #lbdproject2018 So March and the 2018 month long lbdproject are quickly coming to a close. This also signals my birthday coming up. I feel conflicted writing this because I don't really like to make a big deal out of my birthday anymore, I really have all I need, and it's rude to ask for gifts.... However I started thinking this year with the lbdproject. I'm alive and what better way to celebrate than to help others have better lives? Day 23 (cont) #lbdproject2018 8 days left.... Sobering. That's what this time has been. I'm thankful, though, to have found a new passion that melds with some of my other interests. It's been fascinating to think about how eating better, ecologically and humanely also goes along with making purchases so as to not encourage the proliferation of human slavery. Now just to to knowledge and put it into action.... And I'm SO thankful for the work Hope For Justice and other anti-trafficking organizations do. Remember $5 or $10 can help make a difference. Also making conscientious, informed decisions about the things we buy (or don't) can make a difference too. Do you have other financial priorities at present? I can understand that. Day 21 #lbdproject2018 Day 2 of a weather induced headache. Thankful for ibuprofen and the little bit of coffee I have left (because ibuprofen alone was not working sufficiently). I rationed enough to be able to have a cup or two on the weekends in March until I order for April. Do I regret choosing to forgo my March purchase of coffee and donating the amount to Hope for Justice? No. Do I have enough money to buy a bag of coffee? Totally. But it's the principle. I could've bought the coffee and still donated but it's symbolic like wearing a black item everyday in March. :-) And not having a cup of coffee each day serves as just as much of a reminder for me as wearing a black item does.
