Hi guys, do you remember this one of the most popular SpongeBob imagination GIF memes on the internet?

So, recently something happened with this famous SpongeBob scene in Russia. The Russian TV channel 2×2 aired an episode of SpongeBob where the rainbow from the original version was changed they covered the rainbow with just a yellow color.

The reason? According to discussions online, the rainbow was considered a symbol of “LGBT propaganda” under Russia’s current restrictions. I honestly don’t know whether to laugh at this statement or cry.

I lived in Russia since I was a kid, and I’m really happy that I left. I feel much safer now that I’m away. At first, I thought the person who sent me this was just trolling me because I couldn’t believe it was real.

So about Wes, allow me to theorize about them for a second.

The name "Wes" is an Old English masculine name. It's the shorter version of the name Wesley. Which is also a masculine name. (while it can be used as either a unisex or feminine name, it is a predominantly masculine one.)

I think Wes is meant to be a slightly masculine presenting non-binary character. Either that or Wes was intended to just be a male character but they so happened to scream androgyny.

Heading a bit into headcanon territory now, but I personally think Wes has no preference on binary pronouns on a regular day, but may find themselves preferring either feminine or masculine on special occasions. I also think Wes identifies as "Apagender". Which means to feel apathetic towards your gender identity and to not care what gender you come across as.
