Avalon wanted nothing more than to be in the spotlight.
He was, in Da Vinci's terms, a "glory hound". Always looking for those looks of awe and wonder and amazement. Of course, he would never admit to it, but it helped fill himself with a sense of pride.
Avalonia was no short of sweet and beautiful. Something he made sure to flaunt and take great care of. He was the type for public speeches, public flaunting, and always seemed to be chasing the dream of being the center of attention.
So how did a type like him wind up with a type that was completely opposite, you may ask.
It was a mystery to the alliance, especially to Da Vinci, how Avalon wound up with such a quiet wallflower for a significant other. You two look like you wouldn't go together in a billion years!
With Avalon's loud, boisterous, attention demanding attitude--the alliance would've expected someone settling with him to be more of the same.
However, you just seemed to be...different. You were quiet, reserved, and soft spoken. Very comfortable sitting in the back being ignored by everyone. You seem to be the curtain maintainer to Avalon's stage.
Working behind the scenes, rarely showing up on camera, and many people thought that Avalon was lying until they finally managed to get a glimpse of you.
You didn't seem to fill any authority or confronting roles, with Avalon happily taking that role with glee and pride. As it was typical of him.
On observation, he's very keen to your needs. Despite what others may say about him. He can tell when you're getting overwhelmed or uncomfortable with a situation, so he uses his "charm" to cut in and safely separate you from your transgression.
Avalon may seem selfish on the very surface of his character, but deep down, he wants to protect those that he holds dear. You aren't afraid to come to talk to Avalon about your worries and your woes, cause he takes them very seriously.
He even respects your wishes to remain in a private life and to lie just behind the scenes, rooting from him from the safety of a screen or private. He doesn't mind, despite the disappointment he feels.
Avalon also tries to keep you at home in Avalonia as much as he can. For he can tell just how socializing and make you feel. You weren't primarily an introvert. You just didn't know a lot of people aside from your dearest Avalon.
He was arrogant, egotistical, and maybe a little vain...but he took protecting you as serious as he could.
He was part of the Alliance that stopped the negativitron from ruining craftworld.
How much safer could you get?
