Had grilled cheese and ice cream for lunch.
It’s a pretty good day.
A friend of mine is due to give birth any day, and her mom has tickets to fly here and stay for a month to meet the baby/help her daughter with her new little one. Unfortunately, her mom lives in Iran and won't be able to follow through with her plans thanks to our new executive order.
Parents: do you remember what it was like to have a new baby? Did you receive aid from family members? Did you rely on a parent or a relative for child care needs in those earliest days of healing from birth, caring for other little ones, and/or just generally adjusting to new parenthood? Beyond that, how would your parents have felt about missing the chance to be a grandparent?
I know these questions are abstract, and we all have different experiences, but if we're tearing families apart in an attempt to prevent the possibility of terrorism, how are we any different from the actual terrorists? Which American ideals are we trying to preserve?
to my ouat friends who are still kind enough to follow me
This is long overdue. I was friendly with so many of you during my time as a ouat fan, and you ALL deserve better than my shitty ghosting. So here it is:
I had to break free from ouat several months ago for many reasons, but lately, I’ve been feeling an immense amount of regret over my subsequent decision to purge my dash of people who were still actively involved in the fandom. Mostly, I was just trying to avoid a continual reminder of the show through gifs, fandom drama that no longer felt relevant to me personally, and the ever-prevalent soapbox confessionals extolling the virtues of one ship and dragging another (characters and fans alike). I couldn’t take it anymore, and every post that came across my dash made it more difficult for me to give up ouat entirely despite the fact that it no longer made me happy.
Please let me know you guys have read this so I can follow you back. I’m sorry for being such a bad friend.

I kind of want to go back to knitlark but I’m also a bit too lazy to change things/confuse followers who only know me as wsg/etc. etc. etc.
Hannah, where are you in my life to help me make this momentous decision?
