Vision blurred and an aching migraine: obstacles in his way, preventing him from looking at the RFA messenger on his phone. The bright colors and small text combined created a blob he was unable to properly read through, straining his eyes as he scrolled through the previous conversation that took place while away.
It was 5 AM, an ideal hour for V to read through the chatroom slowly without being disturbed. In being alone, he was able to process the conversations easier without having to take part in any himself. Selfishly, he still hung on to that one connection he still had with them all: the knowledge of how they were fairing. Though, even that was hard to gauge from just the displayed conversations on their RFA chat alone.
Eventually, even that connection would fade away as his sight deteriorated. He was prepared for that to happen, ready to no longer see as his Sun had so ardently desired.
A soft buzz from his phone startled him from such thoughts, making V blink quizzically down at the screen. He scrolled back down to the bottom of the messenger, but when Yoosung's name on the messenger showed up to indicate he was present, V's body tensed and instinctively made him scroll back up as if to retreat. He swallowed hard, contemplating how a conversation between him and Yoosung would play out, especially after how avoidant his behavior has always seemed to the youngest of the RFA.
He briefly considered leaving the chatroom right then and there. V wanted to run away again, knowing that Yoosung would ask him the same questions he always had. They were questions he could never answer, knowing well that Yoosung obtaining the truth would inevitably jeopardize his safety and happiness. Withholding the truth from him was something that his Sun, the Rika Yoosung knew, would want from him.
Yoosung’s memory of her was something V never wanted to tarnish. It was better that way, so for V to not make anything worse... He needed to keep him at a distance, even if that meant Yoosung would live on hating him forever.
