While Mccree’s faults were plentiful enough to fill an entire page, there virtues to be observed should one squint their reading eye.  One of which was that the desperado from New Mexico was a man of his word, so when Jesse tossed out that he’d buy Lennie a cup of relatively inexpensive coffee should the pair escape from the perilious situation which thrust the two together, she could’ve taken that PROMISE to the bank.  Before anyone attempts to scrutinize the gesture as bathetic in its intentions, Mccree wanted it to be known to the world, that the offer was made to diffuse the tension of probable death above all else.

So then…why was the cowboy seated and Lennie at the cash register.  Coffee was a commodity which not only outpaced inflation, but also...his income.  There was gratitude in that toothless, terse smile he shot at her as she handed the cowboy the cup of coffee he was supposed to pay for.  After all, it would’ve been very easy for her to stomp out the bar with her chin thrust in the air.

Throws pie crust at your head!!

     If only a second later, he could’ve dodged the crust flying at him. Instead, his princely features were vandalised by crust. A grimace contorting his face being the response to the unsuspecting act from his sister. Even before he opens his eyes again to wipe the remains off his face, he knows who the culprit is. Only one within the palace was as CHILD-LIKE as she, perhaps even childish. He blows air from his mouth and reaches to wipe his face multiple times, remains from the pie crust feeling as if impossible to remove from his skin. “I can’t believe you’ve done this.” Actually, he can. It’s Len after all.
