Trico had never seen a creature like this before. He stood where he was, ears perked towards the other animal and feathers fluffed out slightly. His head tilted to one side, then the other. 

He gave a low grunting call. Testing to see how the animal would react...

      ‘ This is all my fault, Charlie...I was suppose to protect all of you and I couldn’t. ‘ Her head is resting atop of Charlie’s, their dark hair mixing together. She’s careful not to touch the burns that litter the younger’s body, as they’re curled up together beneath a large tree. Far from the main area of the park, where all was quiet. The only sound was the chirping of crickets and the occasional bellow of a distant dinosaur.

     ‘ Delta and Echo are dead...you’re hurt. I thought I was protecting you three and Owen but...I just made things worse. ‘

   she’s careful, watching the other in interest ( possibly fear, she can’t tell the difference anymore ). Her fingers edge towards the pocket that carries her phone, as if by holding it it might help her. Skimming a pdf for the eleventh time won’t help anyone. Much less her as she watches from the other side.
