I think we don't appreciate this scene as much as we should.
Cheng Xiaoshi knew it was about Lu Guang BUT he calls him "My Friend" and not "Lu Guang" like he usually would. He's scared shitless because it's not just him in danger now, Lu Guang could be too yet he doesn't use his name, a name that comes as naturally to him as breathing.
Criminals can be very well-versed in placing hits on people, especially when said people will help them achieve their goals. So if things didn't go well and Cheng Xiaoshi had given his name away, Lu Guang would've been in more danger than Cheng Xiaoshi if the rescue had failed. Cheng Xiaoshi knew this and deliberately concealed his name while also making an effective threat. That just shows how smart he is and how well he can think for himself in distress. I really adore him so much!
This was the case even before he was injured, because when he was walking alone with her in all those shady streets, he whispered Lu Guang's name as he walked a few steps behind Vivian. This tactic was proven useful as Vivian DESCRIBED Lu Guang, instead of using his name when she made her threat.

And that's impossibly smart and makes him even easier to love. He's kind, he wants to help, but he has his own hard limits. The minute you mess with Lu Guang, it's over for you. We don't appreciate how fucking smart and protective he is enough, which we should. I love him so much he's just so good🥺😭💖
