Now I can’t unseen Crow as Hawkeye in that episode where Hawkeye explains how War is worse then Hell.

I would like to point out that not all the popes in history have been good people, not even by a long shot. Some of them put Demons to shame with their list of crimes
ldybluerse replied to your post “Fanfic where Aziraphale meets a pope and they have a Very Heated...”
I think it’s the Borgias family that was some of the worst. But I could be wrong.
Oh yeah, no one was defending the popes. That’s why Aziraphale hates them, because they’re shit.
ldybluerse replied to your post “So in book omens you had mentioned a hc that book heaven is more well...”
If I could offer what I understand of Good Omens Heaven; strict rule following. Which, we all go “yeah right, good people follow the rules and laws.” Okay, good people follow the rules and laws to the letter. So... all the people who turned in Jewish families during Nazi Germany would have been good people, it was the law. All those German soldiers who did what they were commanded to do, were good soldiers and good people. Just doing what was told of them and what the law prescribed.
People who returned slaves to their masters in America, good people. As helping slaves run away was against the law. Heaven follows the laws even if they don’t agree with them, but they won’t probably let you know they disagree. Aziraphale isn’t following what is good because it is lawful. He follows what is good because of his own morals which includes caring about people
Just because something is lawful doesn’t automatically make it right, but people will stand by the idea they are good (or at least not at fault) because they were following the rules, going with the laws, etc. Good people sometimes breaks the rules of society because they know those rules are stupid.
@ldybluerse yes! you could say Heaven is Lawful Good and Az is.. Neutral Good? Good Neutral?
i also appreciate the idea that GO Heaven represents institutionalized religion. they’ve been focused on the Rules for so long that they’ve forgotten the nature of the Rules (or even that some of the Rules weren’t meant to become what they have now.)
as a Christian, i see that so much in “mainstream” Christianity, and the way Christians often treat other people (no matter if they’re aware of it or not.) many things definitely don’t hold true to the teachings of Jesus, the founder and whole point of the faith.
so yeah, that’s my take on Az! fighting the system on the inside X’D
I keep coming back to your post-canon "you love me" comic with the book boys. I love the whole thing, but the last panel with the snake and the owl(?) is my favorite. There's something about it (snake's expression, probably) that makes me think that Crowley just can't believe his luck. Angel!? Loves?! Me???!!!! Angel LOVES ME!!!! ANGEL LOVES ME!!!! (That's what I imagine his thought process in that panel might be.)
omgsh thankyou so much! X’D your interpretation is simply delightful, he does seem to have that feel about him with that expression~
AJ and Zira are already together in D+D, it’s just new to them. they’re still trying to work through all the sludge of being cautious and wary for 6000 years. still trying to work through their worries. also they’re not married like Az and Crow at the moment.
thankyouuuuu! ^0^ i’m so glad you love him! there are a lot of good faces in this coming update, i can’t wait to show you guys!
..well, i guess that depends on what kind of Reverse we’re talking about. if it’s the main Reverse ones i’ve seen for TV verse, where AJ is all good and shiny, i don’t see why Az wouldn’t get along with him just fine.
but if it were an instance of Reverse Book Crow, where he’s an evil angel, that would definitely not go well. Az would be very hurt and uncomfortable around him, even if he did his best to be stoic and unaffected.
I swear I hear AJ saying “fretting” like he said “fraternizing”, which is part of the sass he is getting back. Like “mock me all you want, I know you.”
@idybluerse yes, that’s exactly how he’s saying it XD
- thankyou so much guys! i do love all the source material, i try really hard to keep them distinguishable but also keep them in character. i’m glad it seems to be working so far UvU
