1. we were children when we met and when we parted. i do not remember much but the color of your eyes linger, and the happiness you shared with me always will as well. my eyes found yours last year and i wondered if you had forgotten me, too. 2. your presence shook every room and we barely talked, but you kept me safe even when things were not dangerous. 3. you were quiet and always drifted, but it was okay because i was the one who kept us grounded. i have never met someone who matched me so well and i never wanted to leave, but i was afraid you were going to. i’m sorry for running. 4. i am the worst and you made me feel so loved but you cannot love a friend who does not know the concept. i always miss you. i’m so, so sorry. 5. where did you go? i have never longed for someone so much. 6. i am not sure if i was yours but you were my very best and never have i adored someone so much. we were unstoppable, invincible. after you left, you did not say you loved me but you said you missed me and i think that was better. they say nothing hurts more than heartbreak but no one mentions how friends can break your heart, too. 7. you are beauty at its finest and fear at its worst. when people ask about you i can no longer find words to describe you. acrimony will follow us both and i will always think of you, but i do not miss you anymore. 8. you are not gone and i doubt you ever will be. we are not each other’s home but maybe a hometown. you are so, very refreshing.
