Flowers and vines - leadlight nail art technique
I was trying to replicate this super chic perfume sample packet and I ended up with this. I think I was aiming way beyond my talent. But I like this look a lot. Looks complicated right? You are wrong. This is super easy. Furthermore, this was my first attempt so there’s room for improvement.
I painted my nails black using Urban Outfitters Eyes Wide Closed. Then, I stamped various flowers and swirls from a couple of different MoYou London Suki Collection plates with white Konad polish. Once, the white polish was dry, I painted over it using various sheer polishes. The OPI Sheer Tints collection would be perfect for this. It’s the leadlight technique but with a black background.
Tips: If you are going to try this, make sure your white polish is super opaque and do not use sheer of jelly polishes with any shimmer or glitter in it because once dry it shows on the black polish and kind of ruins the effect a bit. I really like this technique. It’s like I’ve opened a whole new way of painting my nails. If you try this, please send me a picture. I’m really curious to see what you all come up with.
