Omg I love this!! I like to headcanon that a lot of Negan’s people are family oriented/have families. So when he starts bringing Carl around more, the first impression is that he’s taken the kid under his wing. No issues there— maybe a few trust issues since that’s Rick’s kid— but nothing major.
But when it starts becoming blatantly obvious that Negan is fucking him, the mood shifts. Everyone knows Negan’s rules about consent, but it brings up the question of whether or not a kid can consent, etc. But it’s obvious bc Carl leaves Negan’s quarters all red faced and a bit sweaty (he is Rick’s kid after all); not to mention the smell.
But if anyone speaks out— and someone will ofc— Negan makes a public example. His argument is that Carl hasn’t been a fucking kid since this apocalypse started and that he’s probably killed more people than grown men have. He’s ballsy and has got grit and if he didn’t want Negan sexually, he would’ve cut his dick off by now.
