Don't talk to me I just thought about the idea of Dimple hearing Mob laugh at one of his dumb jokes for the first time post-finale... when their first meeting was all about how Dimple COULDN'T make Mob laugh...

When I think about who Dimple might have been before he died, I can't imagine him being anything other than... mundane. His life was probably similar to how Reigen's was before he left his job. And like Reigen, he probably had this aching want to be someone.

Maybe he didn't even realize it until he died, but it is that exact want that leads him to become an evil spirit. He realizes he can take "life" into his own hands now.

And then Mob gave him a new purpose. It really doesn't matter who Dimple was before he died. What matters is who he was able to become.

(I also imagine he died in a car wreck.)
