ROAD TRIP

From Neumoegen to Sagittata, suitable for both horses and vehicles. There is a notecard with directions and rez zone landmarks in the green prim shown in the top photo, taken in Neumoegen at The Peace Terraces. 

There are several stopping points. I didn’t time the duration of this trip.

One of the challenges of organic gardening is you have to keep doing some stuff every day. 15 L of serpentine leafminer-damaged leaves for putting in a black bag & cooking in the sun. There were eggs on the leaves too, so I need to start spraying yesterday.

Found this creepy worm while washing my spinach that I grew this year. Come to find out online it’s a leaf miner fly maggot. It’s neem oil for these plants. #ick #nofilter #gardenpests #organicgardening #leafminer #photography #queergardening (at South Shore, Chicago)

Leaf miner damage - #thursdaytip - Leaf miner damage is unsightly and, if left untreated, can cause serious damage to a #plant. While there are several different kinds of #leafminers, for the most part, their presence is similar - appearing as white to yellow squiggly lines throughout the #leaves. Oftentimes, #beneficialinsects can take care of these #garden marauders, but you can also treat #plants with #neemoil, which will reduce the number of larva that become adults and begin the cycle anew. Tip: Place a few infected leaves in a ziplock bag in early spring and check daily. When you see small black flies in the bag (#leafminer larva becoming adults), spray the plants daily for a week.

Some of the other jackfruit treelings leaves look like the one on right. I'm not sure if it's from catetpillar or perhaps leaf miners - I think I'll take it in to the Extension office. #jackfruit #leafminer #caterpillar
