I'm not bothering about the weeds, because I keep pulling them to add to the mulch. It's not very pretty but it's keeping the ground moist in 35+ weather, so. Also! Look! I have lemon balm and a little strawberry and lettuce under the tomato!
I might not be able to cook anthing but rice for a while, but at least I can make a bit of pickle to go with it
Waitwaitwait that wasn't there yesterday \o/ \o/ One of the challenges (and wonders) of gardening is you work and you work and you work and nothing happens. Then you turn around and EVERYTHING IS HAPPENING OMG
Getting close
I won't get more than about 3 kg max, but that's still 3 kg more potatoes than I could buy right now. For once, I am waiting impatiently for plants to die *is boggled*
Dammit
There goes this entire month's harvest. I hope I find out what went wrong.
Potato!
Cover crop update
It's been a month since I covered the bed with cover crops on it - but it was a month of frosted mornings, so things are slow on the microbial side of life.
I uncovered the bed to check on things and then used my hand hoe to chop everything a bit, added fertiliser (3:1:5 and super phosphatw) because it wasn't ready for planting yet, watered that in, and re-covered.
After this cold front things will start warming again so it might be ready in another 3 weeks.
If gardening is forcing me to do anything, it's being patient.
