Perspective •

the weather in our atmosphere is changing, its temperature growing cold

fog rising from the depths, hazing sight for miles;

waves i use to think could swallow me whole, now barely splash my feet

The Party •

I felt a pain i’ve never quite felt before — a deep, inward pain inside of my chest; i felt my stomach sink to what seemed like a hundred miles down

i wanted so badly to run as far away as i possibly could & have no recollection of it all

but things don’t work that way, and i was stuck at the house where the party was as he went back down to her
