Somewhere along the way I heard a veteran leatherworker say something to the effect of, “There’s always going to be some folks out there that rely on paint and stain to cover up bad tooling.” This resonated so deeply with me, because I knew in the past I’d disrespected the trade and been “some folks”. The worst part is that I KNEW what I was doing while I was doing it. . Every single day offers new opportunities to learn and fix our mistakes. I’m thankful I got checked. I’m not “the best”, and I don’t need to be. I just need to be better than I was. -Sometimes we all need to slow down, clean the shop, sharpen our tools, and add some new ones to the tool block. Lord, if anyone catches me being “some folks” ever again, slap me. 🤛 . (I’m not posting the same straps over and over. All new pairs, same pattern requested every time. You heard me. 🥵) #leatherwork #leatherworker #leatherworkersofinstagram #trade #tradeskills #cowboytrade #handmade #handmadeleather #custom #custommade #customleather #etsy #etsyfinds #etsyhandmade #etsyhunter #crocs #crocsandsocks #crocstrap #leathercrocstraps #heelstrap #leathertooling #tooledleather (at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma) https://www.instagram.com/p/CLv-csSBl0p/?igshid=12pf4q7ejhs5v
