Today I said goodbye to my home of 5 years, Hirado. I was blessed with the opportunity to come here, meet so many wonderful people, make so many lasting memories, all in a beautiful island locale. Hirado will always be like a second hometown to me. I was seen off from my apartment by some of my coworkers, given a pamphlet of photos and encouraging messages, and spent an unforgettable day with three of my ALT friends. I couldn’t have asked for more. I know I’ll definitely return, but to quote The Wizard of Oz, “There’s no place like home!” #altlifeinjapan #leavingjet (at Hirado, Nagasaki)
