latest creation!
i'll be honest i'm not entirely sure what to call this project; it's sort of a waistcoat-jacket type thing i suppose? anyway, above are pictures of the front and back pieces. this project went in a different direction to what i originally thought it would so i don't have pictures of the other pieces, but the lapel is effectively a scalene triangle sewn to part of the front folded back on either side - this ended up looking somewhat messy on the inside so i made some bias tape with the remaining fabric and used this to hem it around the front and neck area. i put two darts in the back, as it was slightly too big initially, and the rest is hemmed normally. (for those curious as to the original direction of the garment, it was going to be a shirt, but i didn't have quite enough fabric for the front to close fully so i made it into this instead. the collar i had made for it ended up becoming pieces for the lapel.) i'm really happy with how this project came out in the end!
