Smoke on the Waters by Richard Fox Via Flickr: The first time I visited Ben Venue I said to my wife I would love to come back and do a wild camp for sunset and sunrise. Yesterday I decided to do just that. The forecast looked good so I headed up for the 2 hr ascent and reached the top, pitched and had dinner and a coffee. It was a nice sunset with the added bonus of a sun pillar. The night was a little disturbed by the male mountain goats constantly having jousting battles but the sunrise soon came about. There was a huge inversion spanning from the east coast from Edinburgh all the way to Glasgow and the west coast. The mist over Loch Katrine, Achray and Venachar was breathtaking.
