Garnet sat on the couch with a content sigh. Steven and the others were out doing who knows what, and she had stayed behind to deal with some stuff and some things (typical Garnet activities). It was still pretty early in the day, so it would definitely be a while until the other got back. And she didn’t really feel like going out anyway.
In the blink of an eye, her form changed, glowing a bright white, until it settled again as two separate individuals; Sapphire and Ruby.
Sapphire smoothed out her dress and Ruby stretched out her arms, leaning back on the couch. They looked at each other fondly.
“What should we do until Steven and the others gems return?” Sapphire asked her wife. Ruby tilted her head with an exaggerated thinking expression that made Sapphire giggle. Ruby grinned and looked at her again.
“You know, you have a really pretty laugh.” She said. This made Sapphire blush, a bright blue hue dusting her cheeks.
“You really think so?” She replied shyly. Ruby nodded eagerly and poked her side.
“Of course! It sounds so sweet!” Her grin widened a little when she heard Sapphire’s little ticklish squeak. The blue gem playfully batted her hand away, but Ruby was determined. “I wanna hear it again!” Suddenly, she lunged forward (somehow both roughly and carefully) and wrapped her arms around her wife in an embrace, digging her fingers into her sides.
Sapphire squealed.
“Ruhaha- Ruhuhuby! Wahahait!”
“Nuh uh! It’s my duty to make you laugh!”
Sapphire blushed even more and hid her face in her hands, giggling her heart out.
“Aww, what’s wrong, you feelin shy?”
“Ohoh huhuhush, yohou!”
Ruby pretended to feel offended, gasping loudly. “Don’t tell me to hush!” She then darted her fingers to Sapphire’s hips, knowing what would happen.
And just as she expected, Sapphire’s entire ‘calm and collected’ persona was thrown out the window. She was now a squirmy, giggly mess, laughing loudly.
“RUHUHUHUBYHYHYHY!”
After a few seconds Ruby let her go, but she didn’t move her arms. And when Sapphire caught her breath, she returned the hug.
“Hearing your giggles is a ruby’s honor,” Ruby said, and Sapphire scoffed into her shoulder.
