Summary: How did I fall in love with a handsome man like you?
A/N: Varka and Flins…I never thought that I would be into these two. I know Varka a little from the glimpses of Genshin lore I see, but seeing him revealed and then fanarts of him, especially ahem, him shirtless, he looks very idusjskshs. And then Flins comes out of nowhere, and the mystery surrounding him. People are already shipping them, and I was like, okay, let me in on the action! Inspiration comes from the above fanart, this headcanon drabble on Twitter of Flins having glowing eyes, Casper from A Date With Death (I didn't forget about writing for him and bear with me with your messages 🙏), and Ryusui from Dr. Stone, who I was reminded of with Varka since greed/want. Inspiration comes from interesting places 🫠. This is written before Nod Krai is released, and I haven’t completely watched the new Genshin trailer, so the two will most likely be ooc, so bear that in mind. Anyways, enjoy :)

“Flins, you’re captivating.”
“Huh??”
“Well, specifically your eyes. It’s just when I look in them, I get lost in them. They're so mesmerizing. Just like the moon,” Varka whispers.
“Quiet, you idiot,” Flins huffs, moving his head to the side, though a blush dusts his cheeks. “You always say the stupidest things.”
He elbows Varka’s exposed side, expecting to shut him up, not the giggle to come out of him.
“Hehey! That tickles!”
Flins raised an eyebrow. He only heard of tickling in passing and had never tickled or tickled anyone before. But if this is a way to get back at Varka’s annoyingly teasing nature, it’s worth a try.
“It tickles?” he asks, this time using a finger to experimentally wiggle against his side making Varka let out a cackle.
“Dohohohon’t!”
“Maybe you should keep your mouth shut next time,” he spoke, trying to keep a neutral face, though the corners of his lips began to curl up into a smirk.
He started tickling with more purpose, scratching Varka’s sides and making the grandmaster let out bouts of cackles and giggles. Flins felt his face heat up at the sound, his heart melting at seeing the man in front of him let out such beautiful noises.
I swear I’m doing this wrong. Why is he laughing so much?
“YEHEHES! IHIHIHIT’S BAHAHAHAD!”
“Are you sure? What about here?” He asks, clawing at his stomach.
“FLIHIHINS! I’M GOHOHOHOING TO DIEHEHEHE!”
I’m actually doing this correctly?
“I have to admit, I never thought you would be ticklish or even this ticklish. What would happen if someone were to discover the oh so great grandmaster Varka is ticklish, hmm?” he teased, getting more comfortable in the role.
“FLAHAHAHAIHIHINS! STAHAHAHAP TEHEHEHEASING! GAHAHAHAHA!” A blush started forming on his cheeks, and it wasn’t from the tickling.
Their eyes met for a second, and even though it was only for a second, both of them felt something. Teary, azure eyes reflected in golden, glowing irises igniting the same thought in their minds:
How did I fall in love with a handsome man like you?
Flins unconsciously slowed his tickling until he stopped altogether as he gazed at Varka with a lingering look on his face.
Varka took the opportunity to take in gulps of air, panting before catching Flins’s eyes again, feeling his face heating up once more. The teasing words that were on his lips left him as he felt vulnerable beneath him, as if he could read him like an open book.
“F-Flinny, you can stop looking, y-y’know.”
Flins was the first to move, pushing Varka down to the ground and towering over him with his hands on both sides of his head. The confident man that Varka was completely went out the window as he felt his heart pound in his chest, staring into those moonlike eyes.
“I don't know what made me fall in love with you,” Flins started. “Was it your physique? Your teasing words? Your care and affection? Your passion to want the moon? Your unyielding strength in the darkest of times?”
Flins took a deep breath, lowering himself closer and knocking their foreheads and boring into those sapphire eyes.
“I don't know, but I do know I want to spend my life with you. To have these moments. That's all I want.”
His lips hovered over Varka’s, their breaths mingling together.
“May I?”
“Y-Yes,” Varka breathlessly breathed, tilting his head to slot his lips against Flins’s own.
“Mmm.”
“Mmphmm.”
Both of them melted into the kiss, any tension in their muscles slipping away as they got lost in each other. Varka parted his lips, letting out a low moan as Flins went in and sucked his tongue. Varka’s hands tangled themselves in Flins’s hair, sliding down his back and wrapping his arms around him, pulling him in impossibly more, and Flins cupped the back of his head, kissing him even deeper than before.
This went on for a couple of minutes, and before they knew it, they had to pull away and get some air in their lungs, much to their disappointment. Varka was the first to recover, seeing those glowing yellow eyes look at him as if the moon was casting its glow on him.
Then it dawned on him.
“You are the moon I've been wanting, Flins,” he said breathlessly, catching the way Flins’s breath hitched. “My radiant, glowing moon.”
He caressed his cheek, pulling him in for a short kiss before breaking away and patting his chest, beckoning Flins to rest on him which the lightkeeper willingly accepted.
“I didn't know it, you didn't know it, but our bodies felt the attraction for one another and pulled us in close. Now that I look at you, I'm glad I never gave up on my quest for the moon. They say it wasn't possible, but here we are. I've always been in love with the moon. I didn't know truly what the moon encompassed, but I wanted it. I realize now it's you I wanted. It's always been you, Flins. You’re the moonlight that keeps my heart going.”
He raked his fingers through Flins’s hair and Flins melted into it, the both of them content in the peaceful silence of the night and warm bodies of one another. The words of love being said through their actions.
“Hehehey, dohohon’t tohohouch thehere!”
Flins’s giggles rang through the air, making Varka pull his hands back in surprise.
“Ohoho, you’re ticklish?” Varka asked, flashing him his signature smirk, making Flins’s heart do somersaults.
“I— Uh—”
His brain was short-circuiting and barely noticed the change in his position until he was looking up at Varka, and damn, that smirk is sexy.
”It’s about time for my revenge, don’t you think?~”
