Summary: How did I fall in love with a handsome man like you?
A/N: Varka and Flins…I never thought that I would be into these two. I know Varka a little from the glimpses of Genshin lore I see, but seeing him revealed and then fanarts of him, especially ahem, him shirtless, he looks very idusjskshs. And then Flins comes out of nowhere, and the mystery surrounding him. People are already shipping them, and I was like, okay, let me in on the action! Inspiration comes from the above fanart, this headcanon drabble on Twitter of Flins having glowing eyes, Casper from A Date With Death (I didn't forget about writing for him and bear with me with your messages 🙏), and Ryusui from Dr. Stone, who I was reminded of with Varka since greed/want. Inspiration comes from interesting places 🫠. This is written before Nod Krai is released, and I haven’t completely watched the new Genshin trailer, so the two will most likely be ooc, so bear that in mind. Anyways, enjoy :)

“Flins, you’re captivating.”
“Huh??”
“Well, specifically your eyes. It’s just when I look in them, I get lost in them. They're so mesmerizing. Just like the moon,” Varka whispers.
“Quiet, you idiot,” Flins huffs, moving his head to the side, though a blush dusts his cheeks. “You always say the stupidest things.”
He elbows Varka’s exposed side, expecting to shut him up, not the giggle to come out of him.
“Hehey! That tickles!”
Flins raised an eyebrow. He only heard of tickling in passing and had never tickled or tickled anyone before. But if this is a way to get back at Varka’s annoyingly teasing nature, it’s worth a try.
“It tickles?” he asks, this time using a finger to experimentally wiggle against his side making Varka let out a cackle.
“Dohohohon’t!”
“Maybe you should keep your mouth shut next time,” he spoke, trying to keep a neutral face, though the corners of his lips began to curl up into a smirk.
He started tickling with more purpose, scratching Varka’s sides and making the grandmaster let out bouts of cackles and giggles. Flins felt his face heat up at the sound, his heart melting at seeing the man in front of him let out such beautiful noises.

“The fog still hasn't cleared, young master,” Flins remarked, even though Illuga could very well have looked out through the window himself.
For about an hour now, thick, stubborn fog had kept the two of them trapped inside the Lightkeepers headquarters.
The Lantern Fae, of course, had no problem with it at all, but Illuga was far too worried to simply let his friend wander back to Nasha Town on his own.
And so the two sat next to each other in an uncomfortable silence until, every now and then, one of them spoke up to point out the obvious fact that the fog was still there.
“It’s pretty boring in here,” sighed Illuga, who could, of course, get up and go home at any time.
“Young Master, I assure you that your presence here is no longer necessary, though certainly welcome.”
Sighing, Illuga brought his hand to his forehead. He couldn’t possibly leave his colleague here alone when he was so certain that the latter would sneak off to go back to Nasha town and get lost on the way there.
“Don’t despair, young master; the fog will clear eventually,” Flins tried to reassure the younger man, without understanding the true reason for his hopelessness.
“Still, we’ve got absolutely nothing to do. Not even work,” Illuga muttered. He wasn’t the type to complain often, but this tense, boring atmosphere was driving him crazy.
“We should actually feel grateful for that. Just imagine if Aino and Ineffa were stuck here with us too. We’d be getting a free lecture on mechanical maintenance,” Flins remarked with a grin.
“No way!” Illuga whined, raising his hands in defense. There was absolutely no worse torture than having to summarize an entire lesson from his terrible memory log until Ineffa was satisfied with his “learning process”.
“Luckily, I have a better idea of how to pass the time,” Flins smiled and reached for the box of cookies next to Illuga, intending to sneak one into his lantern.
But Illuga practically jumped out of his skin, flinching so violently and leaning away from him.
“Young Master, are you feeling unwell?” asked the blue-haired one, staring at his own hand in surprise. After making sure he hadn’t accidentally burned or electrocuted Illuga with his lantern powers, he looked him straight in the eye.
“No, no, everything’s fine. I just… got startled,” the younger man insisted, raising his hands in a reassuring gesture.
But even though Flins seemed to believe this excuse, he still raised an eyebrow questioningly.
“There’s no reason to feel startled by my presence.”
“I know… I just thought… well, I kind of expected something different because of… the hand gesture and stuff…,” Illuga stammered, clearly embarrassed, scratching the back of his head.
Flins tilted his head in confusion. What had he done to startle Illuga? The only thing that came to mind was reaching out over Illuga to grab a small snack.
But why had Illuga been startled by his hand? The same, perfectly normal, human-looking hand that he’d seen hundreds of times before.
But then it dawned on Flins: Illuga had thought he was going to hit him! At any rate, that was the only logical explanation in Flins’ eyes.
“Don’t worry, young master, I wouldn’t dream of harming a single hair on your head,” he assured him with a smile.
“I… believe you?” the younger one replied, surprised. Of course Flins assumption had been wrong and Illuga was aware that he didn't have any malicious intentions.
“I just thought you… wanted to… tickle me…,” he added in a soft whisper, the last part sounding particularly indistinct. Flins heard him anyway.
“Tickle?” he asked, looking visibly confused.
“Yeah… it’s a long story. I just grew up around a lot of kids, so it happened pretty often!” Illuga tried to explain quickly, before Flins could label him as weird.
“Tickling? What exactly is that?” Flins asked, posing the one question Illuga hadn’t expected him to ask.
Were there really people who didn’t know what tickling was? Well, the suspicion that Flins wasn’t human had been gnawing at Illuga’s mind for quite some time, but this was really striking.
How could he not know what tickling was? Was that even possible? It was, after all, a natural human reflex, so how could Flins have no idea about it? That was absurd!
But he couldn’t just explain the concept to him, could he? After all, Flins would surely want to try it out, just like anyone who had just learned something new.
And since Illuga was the only other person here besides Flins, that would automatically make him the victim. So what to do? He didn’t necessarily want to lie, but twisting the truth a little would surely be okay, right?
“Tickling is just… a reflex… when someone touches you. You flinch and try to get away… pretty uninteresting, really,” Illuga explained, deliberately keeping his description vague and completely omitting the fact that it usually made people laugh themselves silly.
“How incredibly interesting,” Flins muttered. His natural fae curiosity, of course, made this little fact seem far more interesting than Illuga had intended.
“What? That’s totally uninteresting,” Illuga protested, but Flins had already excitedly raised a finger and reached out toward Illuga to poke him in the side.
Despite his centuries of experience with human behavior, he had never heard of this “tickling” thing, and if it was nothing more than a harmless poke, it wouldn’t hurt Illuga to be the test subject.
His complaints, therefore, meant very little when it came to the curiosity and equally playful nature of a Fae.
Meanwhile, Illuga, who had absolutely no desire for a tickling attack, had already backed up as far as possible and pressed himself against the back of the sofa, which didn’t help him one bit, since Flins could, of course, still move closer with ease.
“Don’t worry. It won’t hurt a bit,” the Fae smiled and poked Illuga right in the side, of course under his thick leather coat.
“No!” he giggled immediately, much to Flins’ surprise. He had never seen such a reaction from a human, as far as he could remember.
Well, once he’d watched from a distance as one of his colleagues had done something similar to Aino to distract her from holding her class, but at the time he hadn’t thought anything of it.
Illuga’s reaction, however, was… fascinating. So Flins repeated the little poke right away, this time between his ribs.
Squealing, Illuga reared up before falling back onto the couch with a giggle.
“Interesting. Amusing and interesting,” muttered the older Ratnik, poking Illuga a third time, this time in the stomach.
“Sir Flins, stop it!” Illuga grumbled, trying to turn away. But he couldn’t escape.
“But why, young master, when we both seem to be having equal amounts of fun?” Flins grinned slyly and began poking Illuga rapidly in the stomach and sides, without even a moment’s pause.
“Not at all!” squealed Illuga, who was now definitely laughing himself silly.
The Fae knew, too, that Illuga’s laughter was triggered not only by joy but also by reflex—as far as he could interpret human behavior.
But he also knew Illuga well enough to realize that the boy would let him know if it became too much.
“Oh, really? Well, young master, your laughter suggests otherwise,” teased Flins, who particularly enjoyed playing dumb and pretending he didn’t know what he was doing.
He knew just how much that could drive Illuga up the wall.
Meanwhile, he enjoyed finding out whether gentle pinching, poking, or stroking worked best, though that was hard to tell given Illuga’s extremely dramatic reactions.
“Sir Flins! A little more decency, please,” pleaded Illuga, who was already clutching his stomach with laughter but had absolutely no room to roll away without falling off the couch.
“I assure you, young master, my actions at this moment are not without reason and are motivated by the utmost decency and respect,” grinned Flins, who had now turned his attention to Illuga’s hip and was pressing his thumbs into Illuga's hip-bones gently but ticklishly.
“Come on hahaha! You know whahahat that is! It tickles! Stahahap it,” laughed the silver-haired man, throwing his head back helplessly with laughter.
The first tears of laughter were already streaming down his flushed cheeks, and the broad grin was plastered across his face.
As uncomfortable as it was for him, it definitely brought back memories of the old days. Back when Nikita had taken him in and brought him to his orphanage, where the younger children had often tickled him.
It also made Flins seem more human; after all, Illuga had never really seen him act silly before. But this felt comradely, almost familiar. Like two good friends just having fun.
A feeling that both of them had probably been missing for a long time.
“All right, then I’ll be so kind,” Flins smiled and let go of Illuga, who, of course, immediately sat up, embarrassed, and wiped the tears of laughter away with his sleeve.
“Tickling… what an extremely interesting concept,” the taller one commented, as if he hadn’t just used Illuga as a test subject for his curiosity and tickled him to tears in the process.
“That was pretty mean,” the younger one pouted, though he made no effort to hide the smile on his face.
“But at least the fog has cleared now and we can start our trip home,” Flins remarked, glancing out the window, to which Illuga nodded eagerly.
“Let’s get out of here fast,” he muttered, already stepping outside, just so Flins wouldn’t see how wide his grin really was.
This fic is a bit shorter than my normal ones because I literally just wrote it in the middle of the night to celebrate getting Flins within 30 pulls. Also there‘s way too few Illuga/Flins tickle fics, am I right?
Anyway, I hope you like it:)
Lightkeepers Concern — Genshin
Summary: Illuga has been non-stop worrying about Flins’ curse, to the point where he’s gone beyond just prying. Luckily, Flins knows laughter is the perfect remedy for anxiety.
Warnings: Tickling
Other: Lee!Illuga &/x Ler!Flins from Genshin Impact. 1.7k words. (Idc if you read as platonic or romantic, I personally don’t mind either relation)
A/N: I really love Illuga & Flins’ dynamic so I had to write something for them! I haven’t written for genshin in so long, so I hope it’s okay!
please please can you draw anything with Lee!Rerir?

but must say, after learning more about Flins, i became a sucker for the idea of getting him on the receiving end. still a fan of this cool art by @chibimochii
Flins and Illuga Tickle Headcanons + Updates
Here's my take on Flins and Illuga for tickles! :) Not as good as other headcanons but I hope you still find some pleasure in it 🙏. First time to do this in depth and writing down my opinions and takes. So, naturally nervous since I don't usually express my opinions in public and I lack that playful energy that I see a lot of headcanons have 😓, I tried though 😅.
As time goes on, I'll add to this if ideas comes to me! And as I do more of these, I'll hopefully get better at them (like including insights for multiple characters and interactions with said character, tickle techniques they like/use on others, etc.)
In the future, I'll convert my handwriting into actual text too, so please be patient with me 🙏. My handwriting is decent in my eyes but...yeah...a little embarrassed to show my handwriting at this kind of scale. And paper because I like using it! It's easy for me to just reach for my notes than scavenge for them electronically when writing a fic. That's the whole idea why I did this in the first place plus it's quite fun :))
Anyways, enough rambling here's the headcanons!
Blank templates if you want them!
Open to any headcanons of your own and tips for writing headcanons too and pretty much any input you have :)
Updates: SethoScara Day 2 delayed since I had an engineering club meeting at 7:15PM last night and ler!Durin just popped up on the fly as part of the plot so doing some exploring on that~ Plus, was working on the tickle headcanons you just looked at ;)
Some tickle crumbs for Faelight :)
Remember when I said I will write a small something for Faelight? Well, change that to a regular fic 🫠. I can't seem to ever write small but more food for you and me to go wild eh?~
Below the cut~
