Gregory stared at the fox-looking red animatronic that was in the very back area. It looked old and rusty…like a computer that was barely salvageable. Was it only good for parts? Or…why else would it be here?
Gregory walked closer to the animatronic fox and grabbed the rusty hook that was attached. Gregory didn’t really care about tetanus shots or the danger of touching rusty things. It was…typical kid behaviour. The other arm had a proper hand on it. Was it supposed to be a fox version of Captain Hook from Peter Pan?
Gregory thought for a moment.“I’m gonna call you Hook.” Gregory decided.
The animatronic didn’t move, light up, or anything. It remained right where it was, not even moving a millimeter. Gregory tried to lift the animatronic up, but that was really tough. This fox was heavy and on top of that, much bigger than him. So Gregory awkwardly dropped the animatronic to the ground in a sitting position.
Gregory picked up the hook again and tried to remove the hook from the fox’s arm. He pulled, yanked, and spun the hook. But it just wouldn’t come off. “Awww…I wanted to play with it…” Gregory muttered. Gregory picked up the other metallic hand, and held it. It was a cold, metal hand…so not exactly warm and welcoming like the new look that the new animatronics had. Though to be fair, the new animatronics were hard and made of metal too.
Gregory held onto the hand for a bit, and sat down beside the animatronic.
The hand stayed immobile there, as Gregory held it. It would stay this way for a good 10 minutes or so.
But soon…the hand shifted a slight bit. Its fingers bent slightly. Gregory noticed something, but didn’t think much of it. He thought maybe he moved it by mistake.
“How are you, Hook?” Gregory asked rhetorically, not expecting an answer.
The animatronic’s eyelids opened, the eyepatch opening as well to reveal the yellow eyeball underneath. Gregory could hear flipping sounds, but tried to ignore them…
But then he began to notice that there was some yellow light coming from somewhere. That was when he finally chose to look over at Foxy.
Gregory quickly gasped as he realized that the eyes were open! And the eyes had warm, yellow lights that shown across the room! The lights were warm enough that looking into his eyes didn’t hurt to do.
“Hook?” Gregory asked as he got onto his knees to look closer. The fox’s head finally began to move as the eyelids blinked once…twice…
Then, he looked over at Gregory, and widened his eyes.
[Target acquired.] “H-Hi?” Gregory greeted, waving at the animatronic with his right hand. His left hand was still in the animatronic’s hand.
The fox animatronic suddenly jumped up, opened its jaw and grabbed Gregory as he let out a blood-curdling animatronic scream! “AAAAAAAAAAHH!” Gregory screamed, as he kicked Foxy right off him. Gregory took off running the other way, and the situation quickly turned into a chase scene. Gregory tried to get as far away from the old animatronic as he could, but the fox animatronic was surprisingly fast for something that old! “I’M SORRY! I’M SORRY PLEASE!” Gregory tried to say. The animatronic only reached its arms out and screamed its blood-curdling animatronic scream at him.
Gregory jumped at how unbelievably terrifying the scream was, and continued to run.
As much as Gregory tried to run away from that fox, he was just no match for Usain Bolt: fox version.
Gregory was eventually scooped up by the fox animatronic and carried over his shoulder.
“NO! FREDDY! HELP! HELLO?! HELP MEEEEE!” Gregory called loudly.
The fox animatronic turned towards the boy, and lifted the boy off his shoulder. “Freddy?” The animatronic spoke. Gregory widened his eyes and froze like a deer in headlights. “Y……Ya. Freddy.” Gregory looked at the animatronic.
Foxy looked around and looked back at Gregory.
“Bonnie?” The fox asked.
Gregory turned to the right, and noticed a blue bunny holding a bowling ball with the words ‘Bonnie Bowl’.
“Bonnie…” Gregory replied, now realizing who exactly he was talking about.
“Chica?” The fox asked. “Chica. She’s here too.” Gregory replied a bit quicker than before. “Child…” The fox gently grabbed Gregory’s hand and held it.
“Gregory.” Gregory told him.
The fox pointed to himself. “Foxy.”
Wait, Foxy?! That was his name?
“Oooh…Foxy…” Gregory muttered. “Pirate.” Foxy added, holding up his hook and pointing to his eyepatch. Then…with a slightly broken voice box, Foxy began to sing.
Gregory smiled as he listened. It sounded like an old shanty tune that might’ve been Foxy’s tune at the time. Despite his voice box being a little rusty, Foxy’s singing was surprisingly well done. He was hitting all the notes on par, and he was on beat the whole time!
And then, he began to sing something that he recognized all too well: The Fazbear theme song. As it would turn out, the Fazbear band’s theme song had been carried on through the generations, with only a couple of the verses being rewritten for the new animatronics. Gregory started to sing Freddy’s verse of the song, which he remembered off by heart. Foxy tilted his head and listened to Gregory sing the Freddy part.
The next part was meant to be Foxy’s part! So, Foxy sang out his version of the verse that had been so relevant for so long up until the 2020’s. Gregory listened to the song, and giggled at some of the song lyrics. They were very piratey, shanty-like and Irish. It was really funny.
Foxy soon sang the chorus of the song, and ended it off there. “Never underestimate the cunning of a pirate or a fox for that matter.” Foxy declared. Gregory laughed and put his hands up in arrest. “Never! Never again!” Gregory replied. “I can't run like I used to, but I can pull myself apart just fine.” Foxy declared.
“Ihihi- Oh…” Gregory reacted, not really sure how to react to such a joke about falling apart. After all, he did look quite fallen apart.
“Arrgh, it’s fine.” Foxy replied. “Thank you.” Foxy told him.
Gregory smiled. “No problem.”
“Say, Gregory:” Foxy walked up and placed a hook onto his shoulder. “What kinda games do ya play?”
“Lots of games!” Gregory replied proudly. “Yarrrrgh! One of my favorite games was hide and seek! Their laughter always cracked me up!” Foxy reacted. “Really?” Gregory asked, giggling himself.
“Yeah! Whenever I caught those foolish kids, I would do this!” Foxy ran up and started tickling Gregory’s sides and belly with his one hand.
Gregory squealed and fell to the floor with laughter. Once he was on the ground, Foxy pinned his hand up above his head with his hook, and tickled his new friend’s armpit with the other.
“You have been caught by the eeeeevil tickle monster! Surrender yer ship!” He teased, skittering his fingers all over the armpit.
“BAHAHAHAHAHAhahahahaha! Wahahahahahait nohohohohohoho!” Gregory laughed as he kicked his feet and wiggled around. His open left hand was completely useless against Foxy’s tickly hand.
“Oh NO! A damsel in distress! Whatever shall be done?!” Foxy teased. “IHIHIHI’M AHAHAHA BOHOHOHOHOY!” Gregory argued.
“Ehh, Damsel, Gallant, tomato, tumahto.” Foxy replied. Gregory laughed and squealed as his upper ribs were tickled next. He was really good at this for being one-handed! He really does make the one hand work well!
Gregory kept kicking his feet and laughing hysterically under him. “YOHOHOHOU’RE REHEHEHEALLY GOHOHOHOHOOD AHAHAHAT THIHIHIHIS!” Gregory reacted. “Why thank you, darlin’!” Foxy reacted. “Have ya had enough yet?” Foxy asked. “NOHOHOHOHO!” Gregory reacted. “Goodness me! You’re a resilient one!” Foxy reacted. “Quite the fellow!”
Gregory continued to laugh hysterically. “THAHAHAHANK YOHOHOHOU!” Gregory replied. “That was a compliment.” Foxy muttered. “IHIHIHI KNOHOHOW THAHAHAHAT!” Gregory told him. “Very well! So in the spirit! It’s practically Christmas!” Foxy reacted.
Gregory bursted out laughing more at that.
“FOHOHOHOXYHYHY! IHIHIHIHIT’S JUHUHUHUNE!” Gregory told him. “Already?! I feel like it was just christmas! Time is such a nuisance.” Foxy complained as eh tickled his side.
Gregory’s laughter fell into giggles again. “Thahahahahat’s beheheheteheheherrr!” Gregory told him. “Ya like the softer tickle tickles?” Foxy asked. “Yeheheheheah.” Gregory replied. “Well, no shame! Back in my day, kids LOVED being tickled by their good ol’ friend Foxy!” Foxy told him. “Well…Before I got pulled from the show…” Foxy muttered.
Foxy shook himself out of the memories of that day, and listened to Gregory’s squeals and new found snorts.
“I see the kids of today haven’t changed one bit! Still ticklish, with hearty laughter, all of them!” Foxy declared. Gregory only continued to laugh as he was tickled and teased more and more. Soon, Foxy stopped tickling Gregory and let his hand go. “That’s what I used to do with all of ‘em! Hide and seek tickles fer all!” Foxy declared.
Gregory giggled and sat up.
“Speaking a’ seekin’:” Foxy walked up to Gregory’s side. “I’m sorry I scared ya when we first met. I never was myself ever since my Pirate Cove shut down.” Foxy admitted. “It’s alright. I’m way past that.” Gregory told him.
“Alrighty, good.” Foxy replied. Foxy gasped as he noticed an alligator with glasses walking around. He visibly shuttered. “My piratey bones don’t like that gator lad.” Foxy mentioned to Gregory, pointing to the alligator animatronic. “Oh, don’t worry. His name is Monty.” Gregory told him. Foxy looked away before looking at Gregory. “I should probably get outta your hair.” Foxy decided. “I have no business being here.” Foxy admitted. “It’s alright. I like you.” Gregory told him. “Thank you, lad. You’ve been the first kid to like me in decades.” Foxy told him. He grabbed his hand. “I’ll never forget ya.” Foxy promised.
Foxy patted his head, gave Gregory one last belly tickle before taking off to the back of the pizzaplex again.
And the fox was never heard from again…But Gregory still remembered him. He imagined there were a lot of kids that liked that fox. He seemed to be a very influential animatronic for his time.
