Studio 804 and the University of Kansas Department of Architecture,

Every year, graduate students at the University of Kansas Department of Architecture enroll in the nonprofit Studio 804 program to design and build a sustainable, affordable and innovative home over the course of the year. 

The 1220 12th Street House is LEED Platinum certified and targets net zero energy use. It integrates passive strategies for ventilation and sun shading with photovoltaics and state of the art mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. It is Studio 804’s first fully integrated smart house. All the blinds, lights, appliance and the heating and air conditioning communicate with each other and the owner to enhance efficient, responsible and convenient living.

The City of Sunnyvale cut the ribbon on its new Civic Center, phase two of the City's redevelopment of its City Hall and surrounding buildin

Last year, Sunnyvale opened its new city hall, a stunning LEED Platinum, Net Zero carbon building — the first in the U.S. — that was named one of the Business Journal’s 2022 Structures honorees for civic/public buildings. On April 20, Sunnyvale cut the ribbon on phase 2 of its new civic center: a six-acre park on the site of its former city hall buildings.
