An interesting detail about Avatar the Last Airbender is why most people never recognized Zuko and Iroh in Ba Sing Se or Azula on Ember Island. There wasn’t any photography during that period, just paintings and detailed paintings were expensive so it makes sense as to why most people never recognized Zuko, Iroh, or Azula. Additionally, the story of a prince being publicly humiliated by the Fire Lord and banished would spread like a wild fire. However, the story most likely didn’t make it past the palace gates in the form of the latest gossip because
A) it was a disgrace to Fire Nation and should not be spoken of or
B)everyone was so focused on the war, a prince’s banishment did not matter. Everyone just needed to worry about keeping themself and their families alive to see tomorrow.
