After the disaster that was me forcing my way through reading Master and Commander, I have finally found an Age of Sail novel that is an absolute delight to read:

Leeward by Katie Daysh

The first chapter alone was so intense it had me hooked at once. Poor Leroy. I'm now at chapter 10 and can honestly say I do not want to put this book down (a remarkable thing after years of struggling to find the motivation to read). I adore the characters, the tension, the mystery surrounding the Ulysses and Nightingale's struggles to find his footing, both with his new command and his new First Lieutenant.

I cannot wait to see where this journey will lead.

WHERE ARE MY AGE OF SAIL FANS AT?!?

I’ve just finished A Merciful Sea, the final book in the Courtney/Nightingale trilogy by Katie Daysh, and I am not okay.

I do not want this series to be over. I need to gush about it with people!!!

If you like Age of Sail/Napoleonic/Queer fiction you need to read it!!!

I am going to sit in a corner and think about the brilliance of this trilogy.
