t i m e heals all wounds --- -- - ? that's bullshit !!
That notion was absurd. In every depth of his being and every cavern of his soul, there was a resounding 'that's a lie, that's a lie, that's a lie' that echoed throughout his entirety in tune with his faltering heartbeats. The old adage was thrown about as a poor attempt to cope, but it fell flat as mantras and novenas tend to do.The wounds don't heal, but rather scar tissue builds up in an attempt to. At first, the grief and the pain puncture the heart and it bleeds and bleeds - and it's raw. It's open. It's red. Eventually you bleed out and wrap your heart in gauze, layer after layer, and hope to the heavens that a fleeting memory doesn't rip the bandages off. Scar tissue forms, but it never heals. Grief never leaves, and it can creep up on you indefinitely. There were moments when he sought her out to recount an anecdote or to commiserate the woes of the world, only to remember that Clara was no longer a part of it. They had perched themselves here many times to muse and watch ghosts float by, but only a sinking feeling filled the vacancy by his side. He found himself in their hallowed hall whenever he missed her, though his visits had grown more infrequent as time marched on. Clara had been a warm presence - a bright spot in the darkness that had been plaguing him. She had been a kindred spirit, understanding the weight and weariness of carrying a burden of things out of your control. She had been a friend. Despite the terrible cards she had been dealt, and the heaviness of it all, there had been so much life within her, yet it had been taken from her all too early.
F A V O U R I T E. Is there anything more refreshing than a day with Clarabel Moreau? A breath of fresh, spring air, you say? Gisèle may never agree.
To her, Clara is the only family other than her grandparents and Uncle Marius who she loves visiting, the only person she truly lets loose and laughs with — not the soft, polite kind she is supposed to, but deep, full laughter of pure joy and amusement — the person she has the most fun trying to corrupt.
A major part of their childhood was spent with Gisèle attempting to lead Clara astray — from getting drunk for the first time just after her thirteenth birthday when Clara was still ten to convincing her to create a minor, borderline snow storm to make snow angels — but as adventurous as she gets with her cousin, Gisèle is equally protective of the girl.
She disapproves severely of the Moreau parents' antics, thinking them to be crass little idiots who refuse to see a miracle where it exists. Where she exists to admit to brilliance, Clarabel is a phenomenon come to life and she is equal parts fascinated with and protective of her ability. She also, however, is willing to stab whoever messes with her little cousin.
His fears are something you either know from experience, or he tells you himself but unless he see's any purpose in telling you, it's not likely he will. He's scared of a few things, from his imminent death to getting mauled by something from the Herbology sheds (he smokes by there okay, and he swears to god he see's cabinets shaking).
THE NUMBERS ARE MESSED UP AND I THINK I MISSED ONE BUT
Does your character have any noteworthy features? Freckles? Dimples? A scar somewhere unusual? etc.
Rose has freckles everywhere; all over her body (in typical Weasley fashion) she covers up the ones on her face with carefully placed foundation. Her freckles aren’t entirely noticeable when she’s not in the sun a whole lot. She has a ton of scars all over her back from Quidditch accidents. She has one on her left thigh from falling into a bush after a particularly grueling hit from a bludger that she hadn’t hit back in time (it knocked her off her broom). She has two tattoos of her own choosing and the Skull and Bones one.
Do they have any verbal tics? Do they have trouble pronouncing certain words or getting their thoughts across clearly?
Rose sometimes word vomits a bit. When she’s really angry she’ll find it hard to speak clearly and get her thoughts across right away. Typically, though, she’s very good with words.
If you were to pick one song — and only one song — to describe your character, what would it be and why?
Sister- Mumford and Sons
“See the love in your brother’s eyes, and the love in your mother’s cries, sister don’t test the ones you love.”
It’s pretty self-explanatory. The song is pretty much about a girl who just cannot seem to get things right with her family and she’s keeping away I guess. Which is soooo Rose.
Also “Easy” by Son Lux
“Easy, easy, pull out your heart, to make being alone, easy easy…. Easy, easy, pull back the bridles to make, losing control, easy easy, crushed what you’re holding, so you can say letting go is, easy easy” THE WHOLE SONG BASICALLY. But it’s about convincing yourself that you can do things easily which are really actually extremely hard but you keep faking it.
Are they a quick thinker or do they need time to sort through their thoughts?
Both, actually. It depends on the situation. When she’s arguing she’s extremely quick on her feet in those situations. She learned from her mother who is extremely good at arguing. When it comes to speeches, emotions it takes her ages to gather her words because she needs to think about what she’s going to say and pull herself together so if she does get into an argument, no one can exploit her weaknesses.
If they had a choice, would they prefer a subway or a bus for public transportation?
Describe 5 unusual characteristics your muse has.
Rose has to stir her tea three times clockwise and once counterclockwise before she drinks it. It’s the way her mum stirs her tea so she’s seen it a bunch growing up.
Before she falls asleep she always has a cup of hot coco. The house elves that she’s friends with leave it on her bedside table for her. She always tips them (even though most refuse her money)
When she’s tired she’ll actually lick her lips. It’s just an odd habit.
When she’s anxious or agitated she can’t help but to rub her neck. It’s something she inherited from her dad (which isn’t unusual OH WELL.)
Her favorite way to eat shepherd’s pie is actually upside down so the potatoes are on the bottom and the crust is on the top.
Are they a team player or do they prefer to be solo?
Rose is a solo person. Even playing on the Quidditch team is a stretch for her because she feels like she should play all of the positions herself. It’s definitely a flaw.
What are their best school subjects? What are their worst? List five of each.
Best:
DADA
Potions
Arithmancy
Runes
Astronomy
Worst:
Herbology
Divination
History of Magic
Transfiguration
Charms
Are they a leader, do they prefer to follow, or would they rather just stay on the sidelines altogether?
Rose is a leader to the core. Nothing matters to her more than being in charge of a situation. She’s extremely bothered by having to take orders especially from people that she doesn’t respect. She loves being able to tell people what to do because she fully believes she knows the right things for them to do.
If your character was allowed to murder one person without any consequences, who would that person be and why?
It would be Salazar. She truly believes that he is the source of all of her problems.
Does your character trust people right off the bat or does it take them some time to warm up to someone?
It takes Rose years to fully trust someone. Most of her friends are people that she’s known her whole life such as Albus and Dom. Scorpius is probably her closest friend, though it took her a long time to tell him everything.
Does your character have any enemies? If so, who and why?
I wouldn’t say Rose has enemies. There are people that don’t like her but I don’t think there are people who seriously have big beefs with her.
Are they afraid of death? Do they have any regrets?
Rose accepts death as a natural part of life. If she died right now she would have an abundance of regrets. Turning away from her family, her friends, everyone she loves really—would be at the top of the list. She would also regret not being braver in the face of adversity (and doing things for the wrong reasons).
Finally; if your character was forced to eat one thing for the rest of their life, what would they choose and why?
Rose LOVES COOKIES. Probably lemon drop cookies with lemon glaze. Those of her favorite.
“You don’t mind?” he asked, letting out an indignant snort. In his dark eyes, a flame flickered dangerously. “Come on Clara, be honest with me. You’re betrothed to Daniel fucking Greengrass, you can’t just, not mind.” There was a swarm of emotions that took over him. She was so good, so inherently good and she deservedso much better than that monster. She deserved to live without fear
HE WOULD DO ANYTHING TO HELP HER, in that moment he knew, she was k i n d she was g e n t l e she was g o o d Clara deserved the heavens and he would do what he could to ensure that she received them
Through his smiles and how much physical contact there is between him and the apple of his eye. If he's feeling affectionate towards his friends & such, he'll probably be more prone to hugging and hanging off of them.
There's always a chance that tune he's muttering on his way to Potions is one of theirs, if not it's another indie rock/pop/alternative whatever. There was also that stint in third year where he tried to look like Alex Turner.
