My muse is in a coma, but can hear everything you say to them.

● – || It had been days since Luna had woken up from her coma. Each passing day was starting to weigh on Noctis because he was getting nervous that she would never wake up. When she left to go on her trip as the two of them often did he never expected that he’d be standing on the doorsteps of the Citadel with his ‘welcome home’ flowers falling from his hands from shock and heartbreak.
When he had been hurt it felt like a bullet to his heart. Fate kept taking people away from him. He didn’t need to lose Lunafreya too.
The first day that she was out he spent the day being angry. Angry at himself for not being there to protect her. Angry at the world for doing this to her. Angry at life for nearly taking her away from him before their time together had even started.
The second day was the day where he screamed and cried in the training gym with Gladio. The day he punched walls until his knuckles bled. The day he cursed at the world and everyone in it who had hurt her. The day he punished himself for not going with her even though it wasn’t his trip to go on.
Now day three, where the prince sat on the floor next to Luna’s bed with his hands bandaged and his knees tucked up to his chest and his eyes fixed on the wall. In his grasp, a small handful of the blue flowers she and him had loved since they were children. He twirled them between damaged fingers as his heart ached to know if she was ever going to come back to him.
I was counting on forever,
Now I’ll never know. . .
Noctis closed his eyes, tears slowly making their way down his porcelain cheeks as he started to speak from the heart, hoping that she could hear him. “Luna. . . I’m- . . . I’m so sorry. . . ” He wiped his eyes on the back of his hand as he forced himself to keep going. “. . . When you left, I should have gone with you. I shouldn’t have let you go alone. I should have been there for you and been there beside you. ” Noctis opened his eyes to look at the flowers in his grasp, being careful not to break it as his tears fell on their petals. “. . . It should be me in a coma, not you.”
His job was to protect her, as she was to protect him. He failed that job, but he could still protect her now that she was home again. They were supposed to be a family soon. Now more than ever Noct hoped that day would come so that they could have a family in dawn together. “You- . . . You have to come back, Luna. Our son needs you. . . “ His voice started to shatter in his throat as his fingers curled around the flowers in hsi hands. “I need you.”
Noctis pushed himself off the floor and stood so that he was now looking at her resting face. He walked toward her then set the blue flowers down on her stomach. He then gently took her hands and over lapped them so that it looked like she was holding the flowers. Callused fingertips brushed strands of blonde hair from her resting eyes before he rested a hand over her hands that now held flowers.
“I love you, Luna. . . I couldn’t have asked for a better Oracle to stand by my side. Fate picked well.” Despite the sadness in his crystal blue eyes and the tears that were streaming down his cheeks, Noctis managed to smile and show just how much she meant to him in his heart. “Our son will love you as much as I love you. We’ll be a wonderful family. . . Don’t stop fighting. . . ” He curled his fingers around hers as he bowed his head in sorrow. as the King whispered a soft prayer.
