Ever-Lasting Constellations : Chapter 4 - Estelle Meets Death

Notes:

Early chapter bc I'm busy tomorrow. Call it compensation for having to wait nearly a month to put out chapter 3. Fun fact about chapter 1, I stumbled across Bags by Clario while writing it and it kinda linked the two in my head. The same thing goes for this chapter and Orbiter by Noah Kahan, but I’m going to tell you not to and that if you choose to listen to it, don't say I didn't warn you. I had to take a pause because I was writing a certain part while the “I’m gonna loose you either way,” came on.

Summery:

Estelle wasn't sure what was more terrifying, the fact that she'd just gotten chased down by The Minotaur — like, the thing from Greek mythology — or that she'd just managed to kill it. She wasn't quite sure how it had happened. One moment Grover was looking over his shoulder and almost fainting with shock when he saw it through the sheets of rain pouring down overhead and then the next, she held a spiraling black and white horn in her hands as she struggled to catch her breath, her vision slowly dimming from the lack of oxygen as an asthma attack set in.

Ever-Lasting Constellations : Chapter 7 - They Talk About It (This Time Without Outside Help)

Notes

So instead of seeing The Odyssey this past weekend like everyone else (because it’s still sold out in IMAX), I instead watched the Hadestown proshot with my mom and my friends and ohhhh my god. If you haven't seen it, go watch it right now. It just got an extended release for theaters because it just beat out Hamilton for a proshot opening weekend in the box offices. I can't gush enough about it. All this to say, if you see anything that vaguely resembles hadestown either in this fic or the solangelo prequel I'm planning on working on once this is finished, yes that was intentional. Suffer/j

Summery

It had started to storm in earnest as they got back to the apartment. Rain pelted the windows and blotted out any of the potential midday sun. Annabeth hadn't commented on the change in weather from mildly annoying to torrential downpour in favor of disappearing straight into her office, beginning to take out documents and stare at them. Percy very rarely went into her office. Her work was something so deeply personal to her that the idea of accidentally screwing something up whether it be her organization system or fates forbid accidentally destroying an important document stopped him from entering the room almost entirely.

Notes

TW: mentions of past child abuse. It gets mentioned briefly, and it’s about Gabe so I’m sure you can guess the direction it’s in, but I just wanted to give this warning for people who didnt check the tags before reading the new chapter.

Summery

She hadn't noticed until a few days later that her wings weren't growing in like they were supposed to. They looked patchy and sparse, and she would bet good money that if she tried to fly them she wouldn't have been able to hold herself up for longer than a few seconds. Why weren't they growing in? Was she that stressed that it would be too detrimental to her health to start growing in the extra feathers? Actually she could believe it.

“But this time it was differnt. Just barely, but enough to notice. Her chiton, normally dead weight over her too small body and tangled around her limbs like a funeral shroud, was now replaced with modern clothes — distressed jeans and the bright orange camp half blood t-shirt.”

No new chapter today (they still haven’t given me back my computer) but here’s a drawing I did based on this part of chapter two.

Left Half-Buried - Chapter 12: The Pen is Mightier Than The Sword (But Not Quite as Strong as The Pen-Sword)

I'm back. Not sure if nearly 3 weeks of burnout counts as apart of the author's curse, but I know what does; my computer falling off of a 10 foot balcony and somehow only coming away with a dent on the front of the body. It won't shut fully anymore, but I'm still able to type, and if I'm still able to type then the characters I'm writing should live in fear of me. In all seriousness, I have no idea when chapter 13's coming out, but crossing my fingers that the burn out will stay away until then. Also, if you're a little confused why I switched the chapter count to [?] instead of 14 chapters, it because my outline got a little all over the place. There should still be at least 13 chapters, if not 14, so we've only got a little bit left to go. Anyways, thank you for being so patient while I finished up this chapter, enjoy.
