When I was a young girl I wondered if I had a "real" disability if people would be more sympathetic for when I was unable to do stuff...turns out I just had really a shitty family and already had the kind of disability that people who care about you would plan around and make concessions for.

In other unsurprising news: my mom this week told me to "walk it off" and stop being a self-defeating sad-sack when I told her I had developed crippling ankle (and miscellaneous other joint) pain that got worse in the current weather and from walking.

I spent the better part of the day and into the evening at the ER.

This time it wasn't about the vertigo.

A little over a month ago my left shoulder started hurting. I thought it was my arthritis moving to another area.

But the pain continued to progress. My arm would hurt when I moved it. It would snap and crackle and try to freeze in place.

Turns out it's my rotator cuff. I have no idea what happened.
