Le Fumet, Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, Laurentides, Québec.
I'd been to this place before, having a sub. In this country home kinda town in the Laurentians, but filled with your urban, developed, food chains, Le Fumet stands out as the cornerstone diner in Sainte-Agathe since it has served its pizzas and "delicious pastas" since 1974. I was heading north, way north for a scouting trip, and this was our first stop. It broke the ice well for a 10 day cavalcade of dives and local institutions.
Had the pizza, and it was all look for in one. Taste, consistency, and a friendly price.
Just a few street lights further away from the highway's exit. Worth every extra stride.
