Legent • New releases typically don’t excite us anymore with something new coming out practically every other week these days, but the new Legent by BeamSuntory definitely peaked our interest a bit • First things first, this is a bourbon made and overseen by Fred Noe of Jim Beam, as the bourbon reaches maturity it’s put into a combination of red wine and sherry casks, from there it is then meticulously blended by Suntory’s own chief blender Shinji Fukuyo to meet their unique profile for the whiskey • The whiskey itself is extremely approachable, made great cocktails, had a wonderfully fruity profile, but here is the best part about it, it’s retailing for $35!!! • Yes, that’s right, $35, this could have easily been a complete travesty had they priced this whiskey wrong, but they have knocked it out of the park with the price • The unique packaging and story behind this whiskey easily could warrant a much higher price point these days but BeamSuntory did the right thing and made it extremely accessible and affordable to drink • Going to spend some more time with the whiskey itself before judging the flavor profile further, but being a fan of Fred Noe and Shinji, this very well may be something to keep on hand for cocktails and the occasional dessert pour • #legentwhiskey #legentbourbon https://www.instagram.com/p/BuwioJiAm7B/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=kkhys5qmmg2j
