I have two papers today and I've halfway answered one of them but I have to submit the hardcopy so got some time on on the train rn.
Ulysses,
- the eagle on his staff is a Red Tailed Hawk.
- His first language isn't Queen's English. It's Jamaican Patwah.
- A multilingual guy. Some languages he aren't as fluent completely, but enough to get by.
- Still he knows a lot languages.
- has a lot of sworn brothers in the Legion.
- as in, folks who would do his bidding should only he ask.
- said this in my sketch of him but he is charming. Very charming.
- I don't take the FNV karma system seriously but I do with the stats and dude has a 10 in all and I'm honouring that.
- first thing noticeable about him is that he's charming even without speaking.
- Caesar is also aware of him, especially as the explorer who found Hoover Dam.
- Ulysses demanded to be the one to raze New Canaan.
- he wasn't first pick for the campaign but his brothers-in-arms respected his request, and each passed the duty over until it falls to his hand.
- did a damn good job of it. Letting Graham live is a conscious choice.
- most Legion men who's served with him as a leader really enjoyed their time. He's a great orator.
- Ulysses is only his most recent name. He selected this one himself.
- his official rank in the Legion currently is Veteran Frumentarius.
- at the moment he is the superior officer to Karl.
- he was once a Centurion using his previous old name. This was during his active military duty.
- name changed a lot. While most of the time the names are given by the Frumentarii sect there are times he makes his own name.
- and the Legion are pretty cool with it; he is THAT respected.
- the one that crucified the Twisted Hairs wasn't Vulpes Inculta, it was Vulpes, a different guy.
- to me these two Vulpeses are different people.
- he dislikes both though. Not equally.
- like he himself noted, he's become a lot like Vulpes. But to be frank he's more than Vulpes, he's better at it. Dude just learned some more military tactics.
- previously worked with Lanius for Denver. Ulysses sees him as cruel but efficient.
- Lanius sees him as trustworthy. The most of all Frumentarii, perhaps the only.
- Ulysses doesn't like to serve as a military man, but he is undeniably talented in it.
- He much prefers his time as an explorer.
- It's not that the Legion system is lax with him, it's that he's already a vet.
- Ulysses has served his time and proven his loyalty time and time again so they (Legion freemen, officers, fellow Frumentarii) let him do whatever he wants, wherever.
- has a penchant delivered via Legion Couriers. He doesn't always accept it.
- theoretically he could be called back, especially to answer for why he let Graham live.
- But last time he reported, quite poetically, that New Canaan was destroyed. 10CHA that thing.
- maybe Caesar likes Graham being alive while his home is gone, maybe the brothers who ensured Uly got the job felt responsible, maybe Ulysses' words just hold that much weight. Most probably a mix of everything.
- but he got away with it.
- Uly is a very well-learned man.
- Not only is he familiar with the Old World American history but he concerns himself with Black history in general.
- something about finding his roots, if he could call it that.
Had a dream about the Legion. There was some sort of a truce feast and the NCR were rowdier than they were and I was pissed off about it so I sang an angry tune for the Legion men to dance for me. Not only do they get my rhyme but they memorized my words after I sang just once. There was wondering whether it was premeditated but it wasn't. The Legion men left no room for NCR voices because my song didn't allow it to. Legion was united in following the rhyme I've laid out. Some did dance. It became a performance that trances. Those silent are not in on it or are embedded Legion who could not risk exposure despite how their heart too feels unity.
