Lego Exotic Pink Parrot 31144. I got this one for a gift as well! These gift givers understand me a little more than the givers of the annoying dried flower centrepiece. It’s a 3 in 1 but let’s be real I won’t build the other two.

Lots of fun pieces in a nice palette that includes both the fuschia and pink colours I love in the newer sets, as well as turquoise and aqua.

The base has some octagonal flower elements that are fine, Lego is really leaning into the botanicals so why not include them in a set where you need other small bricks to build a frog or a fish or whatever. There are some technic elements that connect the base of the bird body to the tree that are stable enough but are wobbly upon completion when you have to add the head.

Lots of small tiles on the surface to do feathers and I like the tapered pieces. The wings attach with a ball and socket joint which is a little clunky but strong enough. I like the black eyes with the white dots on them, very parrot like.

It’s not very posable, it really is just built the shape it needs to be, which is too bad because that diminishes the playability of it. I do like a nice winged creature.

I lied, I probably will build the other two models in January sometime but it’s not top of my list because I already put it on the shelf with the rainbow unicorn and the progress pride diorama. Gotta have me the gayest Lego.

Overall it would be an ok set to get someone if they were going to build it and then put it on a shelf, or good to integrate into stock for more building options but it’s not a very fun model once it’s built.
